@Biyaoli same!!! I applied mcc at steinhardt and lsp. Actually I’ve been checking my e-mail and portal almost every day since April hoping to get some messages from NYU lol dunno why. Am I being crazy?:((
Hey guys, just wanted to remind you that there’s literally NOTHING you can do after submitting the waitlist form, besides waiting (the irony)…
Me personally, I received a great offer at a very selective study in my home country, so my options are great. Try to make yourself believe that you’re not going to NYU, but to another school, there’s no gain in looking at your decision portal every day when the chance of getting accepted off the waitlist is so small…
That being said, wishing you all the best of luck and I hope to see some of you in NYC in the fall!
Funny. It becomes habit. I keep checking the actual snail mail everyday. Still in that habit! Nothing is coming, we’re done but waiting for the nyu portal. But checking becomes habit! Two schools waiting on…It’s hard to be settled in your minds when you have a possibility of another option.
Hi guys I was waitlisted for Tandon CS but I changed it to CAS and wrote about it in the form. Is it okay? I am nervous because I changed schools
My son was accepted to NYU, but has made the decision to attend Wake Forest instead. It was a really hard decision but after accepted student day at Wake- he knew! I understand the anxiety of those of you still determining this is your # 1 choice, but neither Wake or NYU was his first choice and now feels pretty excited about what fate handed him. Good luck to all.
@Biyaoli I was deferred ED2 then waitlisted… still waiting even now!
You know that’s just not right, it shouldn’t be allowed and I think this torture needs to be stopped. no ed, no waitlist, just one deadline for all, done. this is mentally abusive on children who some are under 18 years old still. It’s not ok and someone should do something about this because they are taking advantage of kids and families. You spend more time waiting and applying and the journey then you do in college.
Morning everyone. My Son released his Tisch about 1.5 Weeks ago and I know of a neighbor (female) who has also released Tisch. Hoping this helps get one of you through the door ! until then today is May 1st. Congratulations for your choice (until you hear from NYU )
Honestly I think this would be the biggest improvement in the college application process. So much of my anxiety the past year has been around the different admissions decisions and having to think which college I should use my Ed and the wait list. I feel as though this is one small change that they could make that would drastically reduce the amount of stress and anxiety around the college experience. I for one thought I was a pretty mentally tough guy until this past years application cycle.
What is the earliest we will hear from NYU? Until then I am committing to San Diego State
@analise11111 see link: https://www.nyu.edu/admissions/undergraduate-admissions/how-to-apply/wait-list-faq.html
click on: when will i know if i’m admitted off waitlist
I hope the first round of acceptance will come next week…
At least this time, we won’t receive a result that tells us to wait longer. The worst result is that we can all relief from this stressful period. Good Luck everybody and even though many of us might not get accepted, I believe we can still be successful somewhere else and reapply to NYU for graduate school!
just turned in my waitlist application. good luck everyone
I noticed that the NYU Admissions Blog just deleted their Waitlist Updates for the Class of 2021…and the previous years’ updates, as well. I looked to see if these were already posted on CC, but I couldn’t find them. Here is the text from last year:
Waitlist Update #1
Now that May 1 has passed, it appears that while we met our enrollment goal for the Class of 2021, we do have some capacity to accommodate additional offers of admission, with the understanding that not every student who has confirmed their intent to enroll thus far will actually join us this fall.
As a result, we will move forward with extending roughly 325 new offers of admission sometime on or after May 10. Students offered admission (and financial aid if applicable) will have 72 hours to respond to their offer of admission.
A few notes:
We will not have any space available at either NYU Abu Dhabi or NYU Shanghai. Our campuses there are entirely full and no additional offers of admission will be extended.
Similarly, we will not have any space in our School of Professional Studies or Global Liberal Studies Program. Both of those programs are now full as well.
Finally and most importantly, please do not send us any additional recommendations, emails, updates, or other materials regarding your space on the wait list. At this time, we can no longer consider any new information whatsoever. We have all the information we need to make our final selections. I will provide another update later this month. Thanks in advance for your patience.
Waitlist Update #2
On Monday, May 22, we will admit another round of students from our wait list. By Monday evening, we will have admitted a total of 925 students from our wait list.
Included in those offers of admission will be students awarded one of the 70 spaces we have in our new Spring Admission program. These students will arrive in January for the Spring semester. They will stay with us for the Summer term to ensure they are on track to graduate with the Class of 2021.
It is highly unlikely that we will admit anyone from this point forward to our Global Liberal Studies Program, our Meyers College of Nursing, our School of Professional Studies, or our campuses in Abu Dhabi and Shanghai. All of these programs and campuses are at capacity. It is premature to speculate on our other programs at this time but I will provide you with future updates this summer when I have more definitive information to share.
We will provide all of our applicants with a final admission decision no later than August 1. In the interim, please feel free to review our wait list FAQ if you have not done so already.
We respectfully ask that you do not send us any additional materials whatsoever at this time and that you not call or email to inquire about your status on the wait list. There is no additional information we can share at this time.
I realize how anxious you must be about receiving a final decision from us and I cannot thank you enough for your patience. Please know that we appreciate your interest in NYU and we will be in touch to provide closure as soon as possible.
HARVARD VS NYU WAITLIST ANGST. I’m CURRENTLY ANNOYED AND PREYING. I DONT EVEN BELIEVE IN GOD (I’m a reformed jew), BUT SERIOUSLY… SEND ME SOME LOVE. pro tip NYU: SEND US SOME BAGELS WHILE WE WAIT IN THIS PURGATORY - ATLEAST YOU KNOW ALL 15k of us will be well FED WHILE WE KNOW THE MAJORITY OF US WONT MAKE IT.
God damn I am so nervous. I really want to get in
Just got an email from NYU saying that they will take people off the waitlist. Anyone else?
@afreeman yup me too. Pretty sure its sent to everyone on the waitlist.
I got it too.
