I’m so scared with all of this. I’m from Puerto Rico, waitlisted at NYU and no hope at all. Be denied for all my top choices. And the ones that accepted me, I can’t accept them because of the FinAid
I’m also waitlisted, CAS. Does anyone know if NYU would require our year-end grades or second semester grades?
@purifiedwater510 only if they request them. They only want you to fill out the waitlist form.
@purifiedwater510 Yes, on the Waitlist form, NYU asks for final year reports to be sent when available.
whens the waitlist form due by. is it due May 1 or are they all read by May 1?
@Guapo_Trill May 1 11:59 EST

so according from last year’s thread, we should start getting “interest letter” gauging our continued interest in NYU in early May. If you get one of those, there’s a good chance you get off the waitlist. And last year, offers were sent out around May 10th?
@whatever456 Can you give more details regarding this letter
Like what do you mean exactly, I didn’t know about this until now haha
@Shar2000 so in early May, some people will get an email saying “even if we can’t give you great aid, are you still interested in NYU?” And most of these people will then get an offer. If it’s anything like last year, that is.
@whatever456 Ohh okay, makes sense! Thanks for lmk
@whatever456 and others, Last year my daughter was on the waitlist. Got all excited when she got the ‘interest’ letter because she read on CC that it was probable she’d get an offer. She answered the letter promptly and appropriately. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. End of JULY she gets the denial letter. So, it is NOT a guarantee. She was also on the wait list at another school and she didn’t get the final rejection until August. My point is, it is time to fall in love with the school that you have to accept by May 1. Don’t put too much hope in the waitlist.
On that note, where is everyone thinking of committing to for now?
@holdingouthope You’re perfectly right.
Guys, am I right when I say that if I want to send a letter of continued interest and resume updates, I should do them only through the waitlist form on my application portal? I can’t do that by emailing the admissions office right?
@RibaldFlotsam Yes
@bnbebe2000 BU!
@Shar2000 Great school, congratulations!!
@bnbebe2000 Tysm
does anyone think its a good idea to add I am visiting the school in my waitlist form? I read that you should not visit to discuss being waitlisted but im talking about just touring the campus
