NYU Class of 2022 waitlist

@amazain They did say on the form to only send them a final transcript; nothing else would be accepted.

Any ideas on when we will start getting the interest emails?

If it follows last year, 2017, sometime around May 7 give or take.

waitlisted for Tisch. I’m so scared:( NYU is my too school as well.

anyone has any idea how much weight the waitlist form has on your decision?

@dreamscape99 from what I heard, most elite schools mine their waitlist. They use the waitlist to fill their student body with the students that they need. If there’s no Oklahoman in the current class, they might offer a spot for a waitlisted Oklahoman. I think it goes on like that.

if the major i applied to is a fairly new major, will that increase the chances of me getting off the waitlist?

@wdjacca In my opinion, visibility is opaque at best and so it’s unclear.

I read on another read that someone got off Tisch drama WL last night! Ugh, I really want my S to get off WL!!!

@HopeinMT Don’t give up. NYU website says they will look to the WL around May 5. Fingers crossed for you. Look under “When will I know if I’m admitted off waitlist” tab.

https://www.nyu.edu/admissions/undergraduate-admissions/how-to-apply/wait-list-faq.html

where did you read that?? i’m also waitlisted for tisch drama! @HopeinMT

I read I read it on an acting thread. I follow so many I cannot remember. The person was notified las night.

i know that person. they were accepted last night, confirmed

Any news of more acceptances into Tisch?

What program was he offered? Was he given financial aid?

My waitlisted DD for Steinhardt Com, media and culture just committed to BU last night. I really think she is getting excited about BU after feeling so terrible about being waitlisted at NYU. Now I almost wish she would withdraw her name from NYU’s waitlist so she can just move forward in a positive way.

Yeah @Asil65 My S committed to BU too. We would love Tisch but I am wondering if his heart is getting more attached to BU as time moves on.

waitlisted at chapman and nyu. committed to hofstra. bu is a guaranteed transfer if he wants it in a year. so he has one committment, two wishes, and one backup in a year. just too much. head spinning from this ‘maybe’ section he’s in. it’s either yes or no and move on but he wants of course those waitlisted ones because the grass is greener i guess. it’s been a ridiculously long journey that isn’t ended because of these waitlists and possibly transfer. tired of it frankly.

SAT 1440, 41 for IB. Waitlisted at Tandon. I am so anxious. Still trying to perfect my waitlist letter. I want this sooo bad.

I have to commit to theatre at Cal state Northridge or Cal state Long Beach by May 1. I feel like CSULB is the better school but CSUN could have a better program. (I am Wait listed at NYU and LMU where I’d rather attend) If anyone has any info about the theatre programs at either school it would mean a lot as I have no clue what to do
