from ‘award access not available’ to ‘2017 award access available’ sth like that @collegesaywht123
@collegesaywht123 , seems like the FA change indicator has been fixed. So i guess we should no longer expect any indication from that but house change. @booyakah. I think overall your resume is solid enough to be passed in the first round of selection, which confirms my conjecture of how the system works.
can you tell me more about your conjecture of how their system works? I am very curious about that and honestly, I have been wondering about it for long. tell us about it! ~O) @Chalamagne916
@classlena I’d be glad to but it is only a conjecture. I have studies the threads of 2020 ED1 and ED2, ED1 applicants reported most of their FA change disappeared after 2 weeks before acceptance. Meanwhile seemingly house change served as a fine indicator all the time. Since some of the ED2 applicants have already reported the house change from the 21st but no FA change, so i guess that they have fixed the FA change.
So i think for those who are anxious about the final decisions, house change then becomes the only indicator that we can rely on as i am suspicious about if they are going to fix that, too.
but what do you mean by “the first round of selection”? @Chalamagne916
I applied ED2 to NYU Shanghai. Already interviewed by Claire Wilkinson.
Btw NYUSH does not interview everyone. It only interviews competitive candidates.
I think he means the first batch of people who received a housing change.
Oh well, okay. Didn’t get either of the changes though, so scared. :-SS
@collegesaywht123 I wouldn’t be scared, as although from the last few years a housing change indicated acceptance, no housing change did not have 100% correlation with rejection. Don’t lose hope, and good luck!
That’s great to hear! @theniqqa23 @ZainSD I actually already had my interview with Tamara Minott for NYUSH last week. I thought it went well so I’m hoping that gives me some brownie points :).
Thank you! Good luck to you, too! @adreamer22
Is FA at NYU generous?
That sounds amazing! @SquadGoals I hope we all get in; my interview also went pretty well but my stats aren’t the best. Hopefully my essays and their whole holistic approach helps me out in the end.
I really want to attend NYUSH and love their curriculum! This wait is going to be torture ugh
@Lucas1998 lolno.
Does NYU look at our mid year transcripts to make a decision?
@4567sert , i am positive they do.
@4567sert Normally I would say yes they do look at your mid year transcripts to make a decision, but seeing that the housing changes have occurred so early, I really don’t know what to think.
So I called admissions about Mid-year grades because my school does grades yearly and not quarterly or semesterly. So basically, this was their response.
" While we prefer to have the Mid-Year Report on file, we understand that not all schools are able to provide mid-year grades. Counselors typically submit the report directly to our office once mid-year grades become available. You may have your counselor email our office with a brief statement indicating that they will not be submitting mid-year grades."
Does housing change equal admission?
@Lucas1998 According to past threads and previous years, a housing change is a high indication of admission; however, it is not a 100% guaranteed way to know if you’re in. It’s pretty much a 85-90% chance though if you do happen to get it based on what I’ve read.
