*****NYU Early Decision 2 Class of 2020 Discussion*****

is there anyone who got in without having housing change? just asking

@gettingintostern i feel like if you got the change for both spring and fall in NYC then you’re gonna be good. The spring application is probably just a glitch that would let students apply for housing in the spring session… however, since you got the fall housing change too, i think that would signify your possible acceptance into NYU.

to be honest i’m not convinced about the housing change, mostly cause i dont wanna get my hopes up for stern. i think it’s possible that the housing department is totally separate from admissions and they just change your status to ‘freshman’ so that you can apply for housing in case you actually do get accepted to NYU…

all will be known in 12 days…

I hope they tell us on the 13th like they did last year so it’ll only be 10 days!!

@curiousminds01 trust me brutha, i feel you… haha

Last year we all were just checking our fa changes and nothing else…

Has anyone who applied to the Clive Davis Institute for Recorded Music gotten a housing/FA change??

@classlena yeah, there are people who didn’t get the change and still got in. While getting the change most likely indicates acceptance, not getting the change ISN’T an indicator of not getting admission. So honestly, there is absolutely no point getting anxious/distressed when you do NOT have a change now, because it really really does not mean rejection. Also, regardless of the theories etc., the literal only way to know if you’re in or not for sure is the official email from nyu on 15th Feb telling you.
So if you haven’t gotten it(like I haven’t), do not lose hope!! to each and every one of you reading this right now- we’re closer to the decision day than we’ve ever been before  we got this!!

@guard527 have you got the fa change?

you girl rock this thread and give us hope, thank you <3 @trign0metry

Has anyone here got the fa change?

.

To be honest I don’t think this is a really hard concept to grasp. The best way to predict acceptance, other than wait till Feb 15, is to go through this year or the previous year’s ED threads. The only two things mentioned there are the FA change (confirmed to have been fixed) and the housing change(specifically NYC Fall Freshmen). Any other theory (albert change) just doesn’t have enough substantial evidence to back it up.

@classlena

Yes, plenty of people get in without the housing change.

Is the housing app just not working for anyone else? Housing.nyu.edu/apply just keeps loading for me, but never goes through.

@coolbreeze90 a lot of people’s housing never changes, so that isn’t true. housing and admissions are connected

Does any one know when the next wave of housing changes will be? Or when it is likely to be?

it is said that the next wave was about to occur today and tomorrow. @kdr2698

Did anyone else apply for Music Business on ED2?

From what I’m seeing those who applied to the College of Arts and Sciences are the ones with the housing changes so I wouldn’t worry about it for those who applied to any of the other schools.

I applied to Stern with CAS as 2nd option on January 1st before the deadline, but on Albert it says my application deadline was January 3rd. I still didn’t get the housing change. Do housing changes ever come this late??? Do I still have hope?
Cause I have two friends who applied regular decision and already got the change.

@litboi people who applied to stern, SPS, tandon have gotten housing changes already
