*****NYU Early Decision 2 Class of 2020 Discussion*****

Additionally, @curiousminds01 seems to have a strange setup as no one else has reported having BOTH options.

I thought too many people had the change anyway - @curiousminds01 what school did you apply, are you NY, out off state or international student? What GPA and SAT/ACT

we can’t all be denied right…

@clkodu98739 You are aware that NYU accepted 18000 kids last year, right?

my stats not great - maybe the change to non renewable got deferment

@clkodu98739 I applied to CAS, I’m from NJ, and I have a 4.1 weighted GPA and 31 ACT

@clkodu98739 Can you please stop making swift judgements on what the changes mean? I thought we were past this here…

to be honest, it wouldn’t even make sense that this many of us would be rejected. guess we just have to wait and see

The fact of the matter is there’s no way only one person on this whole entire thread (@curiousminds01) still has freshmen and presumably will get in, while everyone else will either get deferred or rejected. NYU is an elite university, but it’s not as selective as Harvard.

When did they finish reviewing applications? If they’re already done looking at them then the switch can’t mean that they changed their decision

My stats are fairly similar to @curiousminds01 (though my GPA is unweighted and I’m not sure how it compares in that sense). However, I applied to Gallatin and may not may not have put CAS as a backup. Do we know whether Gallatin or CAS is more selective?

@runner625 they finished today

@InAmAp CAS is more selective than Gallatin

@pizzaandpeonies Just wondering, did you hear back from mich?

@barcodeIlIl nope LOL

Yeah, the fact that he has both spring and fall makes it look kind of fishy… Not pointing fingers at you @curiousminds01 i’m pointing at the system hahaha. And, most people who had the changes had similar stats to him/her or even better so I wouldn’t worry about it. But if those who had the change were to be rejected, that would mean I would form part of that large rejection group. If so, then so be it. Can’t cry over spilled milk, I’ve done everything I could and if not NYU, there will be others. Best advice, wait seven more days. Cheers!

3.4 GPA 27 ACT

@pizzaandpeonies Damn. I was gonna say, getting in to mich makes this change from freshman back to non-renewable a lot less nerve racking. Normally I’m pretty sure I’d be panicking right now…

I mean personally, I wouldn’t be surprised if the switch meant postponed or denied for myself. I was shocked in the first place that I got the change (from nonrenewable to freshman), coming from a 26 ACT and 3.86 GPA. I mean, my essays were pretty good and I have a load of EC but who knows?

@barcodeIlIl i don’t actually want to go to umich though - i applied because it’s in state and parents wanted me to LOL i have a back up though so this isn’t completely nervewracking but still…
