@ferrarivettel Sounds like a perfect response! The wrong answer would have been “I received no help”. Colleges know that everyone edits the shit out of their essays and part of that process is using outside help. As long as you phrased it in a way that implied your friends, parents, and counselor only gave you comments and suggestions that you then used at your discretion. I have a private counselor and when I sent him my essay he sent it back to me practically re-written completely in his own voice. I immediately stopped using him because even though his edits made the essay better, it wasn’t my essay or my ideas anymore. This is what colleges are concerned about.
Today is FA change day everyone!!! Make sure to check on Albert around mid-day and later tonight and report back with what your status is. Remember, you are looking for under “finical aid summary” on Albert to switch from “Award Access not Available” to " 2016 - - no self-service access for this aid year". There was an incredibly high correlation between people who received this change and who were accepted last year.
No FA change yet. But it is still early.
Remember guys…IF we don’t get an FA change, it doesn’t mean it’s a bad sign…lots of people last year got the FA change the day of admission. I don’t have the time to find the thread, but perhaps someone else might have it handy to back me up on this? /trying to stay calm.
@nero64 Exactly correct. @NYUFan101, who has been active on this discussion, was an applicant last year and didn’t receive the change until December 3rd. He was accepted to his first choice school.
Based on last year, the changes started today around 5:00pm. Hopefully this will make some people’s Thanksgivings less stressful (if they receive the change).
any changes yet
No FA change yet
nada.
FA Changed!!! from NY
@rochester123 Awesome! Congrats! Anyway you can post a screenshot? When did u submit your application and for what school?
???when did it change???
I still have no change.
anyone else has FA change?
If you look at last year’s thread, the FA status started to change from the 25th. The FA to-do list started to change from the 24th but as someone already mentioned the to-do list change seems like the default this year.
@IABstudio Last year the 25th was a Tuesday. Seems as if the office processes the decisions it has made so far before going on Thanksgiving break.
my to do list already looks like last year’s change. what do you guys have? @rochester123…you’re stern right?
this is how it looks, but i don’t know what it looked like on day 1…how about you guys?
To Do List
Below is a list of your current To Do items. Items in a Requested status need to be submitted to the Office of Financial Aid in a timely manner. Items in a Received status have been received by the Office of Financial Aid and are pending review.
Please note that if you do not wish to borrow the federal loans that may have been offered to you, you can decline them by going to the ‘Accept / Decline Financial Aid’ link in Albert.
In order to view any external links and / or documents listed below, you must disable all pop-up blockers.
To Do List Summary
No current to do item information found.
i wonder if they do it by school or region, or alphabetical, or random. oh this is killin’ me. anxiety to the max
wonder if it’s done by when you apply??
@rocherster123…are you male/female?
Was there anyone who did not get the To Do FA changes?
@nero64 The change that everyone talks about concerns “Finical Aid Summary” nothing to do with the “To Do List”. My to-do list looks exactly the same as the “change” you are describing and has looked this way since I first logged on to Albert.
@deller123…yup…we’ve discussed that…but last year it was a change…we think it is likely default this year, but i think only two people other than you and i even commented on it…so it would be neat to see what everyone has so that we can actually see if it was anything…likely not.
