NYU ED II 2018 Discussion

@chances1please I applied to steinhardt, I was thinking about Stern but it felt too competitive for me haha

@lyndak Before it should say something like ā€œNo information foundā€ or something of that sortā€¦ and After it kind of looks like a three section chart with ā€œ2015 Award access not availableā€ā€¦ the latter is the famed FA change

@chances1please I thought ā€œ2015 Award Access Not Availableā€ is what it should say BEFORE the change and upon receiving ā€œthe changeā€, it should say, ā€œ2015: No self-service access for this aid year.ā€? Can anyone else clear this up for me? What should your FA say before change and then after change?

Okay. the FA change is if you get a YEAR in your fa status whether it say Award Access not available or No self-service blah blah blah. Preferably the year is 2015.

What does it say in your FA status on albert right now @lyndak?

Mine says:

Aid Year: 2015 Institution: New York University Aid Year Description: Award access not available

Itā€™s in a three by two grid chart. I wasnā€™t aware of the FA change theory so I first checked last week and this is what it read. Since it was my first time checking, I assumed that this was what the summary was supposed to say before the change. Iā€™m so confused!

lyndak, thatā€™s the FA change. :)

(Weā€™re believing that the No Self-Aid available status thing was a ED 1 thing only, but weā€™ll see later on if people actually get that status)

@outonalimb Okay thanks for clearing things up with me. For those who did not get the FA change yet then, should they be seeing the same thing except with no year or ā€œNo information foundā€ as @chances1please said?

Yes. It would not have a chart, but rather just No financial aid found or Award Access not available with no year and no grid chart

According to the theoryā€¦ Were in! Letā€™s see if it pulls through.

Okay well then I had the FA change and applied to Steinhardt. How are people seeing their major change? Is it just going into Albert > Application Status > Description?

did anyone in NY who applied to stern (who did NOT do pre-college) get the financial change?

Only a couple weeks left! And hereā€™s couple links to get you guys pumped. Well it did for me. The welcome week events from last year!:

http://www.nyu.edu/content/dam/nyu/src/documents/undergrad_alpha_13.pdf</a></p>

http://www.nyu.edu/content/dam/nyu/src/documents/event_ug_13.pdf</a></p>

Guys the new CC layout is so confusingā€¦

Lol I donā€™t want to get too pumped yetā€¦ I appreciate the effort though :P

@zebrashorts I feel the same way. So much chaaaange.

so I my fa shows 2013 and 214 in the gird saying ā€œaward access not availableā€ next to them. Iā€™m thinking this may just be like that because I attended a summer program there last summer. For mine to change would it now have to display something for 2015?

@123haby Yeah, you would want a row under those two that says 2015 as the year. That would be the FA change.

Did all of you who have the FA change submit your FAFSA?

Still no FA change for me. I submitted my FAFSA, and in Student Center, I found a hold on the form implying that I would receive no aid for my specific area of study. Interesting.

did anyone get an fa change applying to sternā€¦ from the new york new jersey area???
