@HaroldSawyer-sorry for the delay and maybe this was answered, but yes you can Decline admission for 2 reasons:
Accepted to a different program than you applied, ie. accepted to LSP but applied to CAS
Applied for FA and award is not acceptable
Regarding, time the rejections start coming out. I recall the first was shortly after 1AM CST, so shortly after midnight NYU time. It is a tough night. I allowed my daughter to stay home from school. I will tell you parents to let you stay home!

My financial aid changed and I was accepted into LSP, although I had applied for CAS. Donāt know if that helps anyone! Good luck!!! You can reply with any questions, but I donāt know how good my answer will be haha

If your FA has changed, donāt worry itās definitely a good thing but a little panic is understandable. Mine changed about 3 days before the results were out. Good luck EDII, we look forward to welcoming you! :)

@malhorncastle how did you feel about the change to LSP? Do you feel itās a downgrade? Iāve read mixed things on CC about it. In general, I think itās a win-win situation

@sphinx95 thank you! OMGā¦ I actually just found out a huge mistakes I made in my nyu essay last night. And now my Albert doesnāt work anymoreā¦ Does that mean I got rejected?.. Want to cry badly now!!!

Regarding is LSP a ādowngradeā
I recall a person on the ED1 thread who was switched to LSP. When they explained what they wrote on the supplemental essay, I thought that if I were on the admissions committee, I would have switched them also, because although they picked a major, they sounded passionate about quire a few other disciplines. Here is my theory for whatever itās worth: The purpose of the supplemental essay to is discover if your selected school is the best match. Some of you are choosing majors based on your parents expectations or other influences and that might come through in the essay. If you apply to Stern or Tisch, it would make no sense to switch you to LSP. You would decline because you have a more narrow and focused interests. If you apply particularly to CAS , a change to LSP is a chance to find out more about your direction before committing to a major.

Hey guys, I applied EDII to NYU CAS as an economics major. i recently checked my financial aid summary and i have a little table that says 2015 I New York University I Award Access not Availableā¦is this the FA change everyone is talking about?

lol, it seems like a majority of people are getting an FA change. iām not saying i hope fewer people get it, but this could either mean really GREAT news, or a bunch of disappointed people soon :(

@cc20148 Ah, thank you for some feedback. That would be awesome if we were classmates!

In other news, I just a call that I am 1 of the 4 finalists for the Burt Reynolds Scholarship. I will have an interview with Mr. Reynolds, and the other judges, ON FRIDAY. Ugh. Friday will either be a really awesome day or a ridiculously horrible one!

@Kxtreme16 Well to me it seemed that the ED1 thread also had a lot of people with the FA change, yet they all (or most) seem to have been accepted anyways.

@kxtreme16 I do believe that the pool on CC tends to be a lot more competitive than the regular pool. I have been looking at the posted stats of people with FA changes and theyāre all pretty competitive for their perspective schoolsā¦ i really hope a lot of tears of joy on friday!

Everyone who has got the FA change and is worried, possibly because itās so strange that so many people in this thread has gotten the change and it might not mean anything anymoreā¦

In the ED1 thread, 26 people had the FA change and posted that they got accepted, while 2 said they were rejected. 26 is a HUGE number, especially for a thread, and prob the majority of the people.
15 people said they were accepted but they didnāt say whether they got the change or not. (could be a silver lining to ppl w/o FA change possibly?)

(P.S. Why did I do this? lol I donāt really know, I had a free period in school hahaha)
