NYU ED1 Discussion Thread

Yup, I got one of those as well. I was kind of like, “Save your paper, I already applied. If anything, I should make a magazine of myself and send it to you.”

What’s the point of them sending us colorful, happy-go-lucky NYU Magazines when most of us will be getting our rejections in the mail come Dec 15?

They weren’t just sent out to ED applicants, but rather everybody who has expressed interest in NYU (visited/toured, selected as a college they plan on applying to on the common app, etc.)

Also, why are you applying to spend 60k a year at a school you willingly call “stupid”?

eljamas- relax. I’m only kidding.
I would love to go to NYU. What do you think my chances are for CAS?

No, I get that. It’s just…oh, never mind; I can’t explain it. On the plus side, I have a nice purple to make a collage with.

haha i got their email too…whose down to celebrate when we all get in!!!

magazine* not email…

Well, I just got that e-mail “Your NYU Application is Incomplete” because of that whole SAT mishap I had and in it they said

“Finally, you can be assured that we will notify you of your admissions decision after December 15th but no later than December 31st. Decisions will be sent by email and will not be posted on our website, NYUHome, or released over the phone.”

Could this apply to all or just me? Seems kind of late.

^ got that too, called them

They said its coz IB marks need longer time to process and told me not to worry. I dont know

Everybody recieves a magazine, right?

Applied Early before as well

Needless to say, I am quite nervous after looking at this thread.

Okay I applied to Tisch Film and Television and submitted my portfolio on slideroom on time and everything was successfully submitted and so on and so on, i got emails from slideroom and from commonapp/nyu both saying my admission submission had been successful.

The thing im worried about is the fact that my portfolio box still isnt checked off on albert…i went and checked my slideroom account again and this time it had an x next to my personal information tab, but checks next to all the rest of the portfolio…so I emailed nyu undergraduate office about it and was redirected to a woman who emailed me back and said my slideroom portfolio had been submitted successfully and was available for review. That was a couple weeks ago…but my albert still doesnt have a check next to the portfolio… it seems kinda late considering dec 15 is right around the corner… is that happening to anybody else?

I am not applying to Stern though, I am applying to CAS haha. I plan on majoring in Political Science.

Who here has ever SCUBA dived before?

D’s art portfolio box is not checked off on albert. She rec’d a post card that acknowledges the art dep’t rec’d it, so she isn’t following up.

Ahhh I didn’t receive a postcard confirming they received my portfolio!
