NYU ED2 2019 Discussion/Decision Thread

you’re a domestic student @marley14

Can we still expect a FA change?

@thepatzae sure! i’m a domestic ed ii applicant. i applied to gls as my first choice. although, i also did put down cas and steinhardt too. what about you?

@marley14‌ if you have an SSN you are not international, but if you’re in the US on a visa you’re international.
I live in California, but I’m apparently international because I’m on a visa (I checked with Admissions)

@littlemissbang‌ i have applied as an ed2 to stern. im international student because im from europe. and nyu was my first and only one choice. i did not apply anywhere else. however, i put cas as a second choice within nyu…

Kinda freaking out now, I was counting on the fact that I could get into CAS if Stern rejected me… but now…

@vballgurl same!

@vballgurl @theoatzae I am actually happy our chances are low in getting into your alternate if you applied to Stern as your primary, because honestly NYU is way too expensive and it’s only worth it if you’re going to Stern. That is just my opinion, taking the perspective of someone who is about to pay $65000 for 4 years if committed to NYU.

@vballgurl @theoatzae this is of course pertaining to business majors

@boogapenguin‌ you are extremely right. that is what i thought about when i was applying to nyu. i have put something like plan B because i have low chances for stern because of my stats. however i will see. im literally crying every day since two months and before because i would love to study there, im just freaked out now even more because i dont have this fa change. I have a question also. im na international student now, but i will apply for green card to us; if i would get it, would i be still considered na international student then? because maybe there is a chance to apply for some financial help after that? that is my biggest confusion

I want to ask the same question as someone before, because we did not get any sugestiom - can we still expect for fa change? im checking it every hour, omgggg

@thepatzae‌ about the green card thing…once you get your permanent resident status you wont be an international student anymore, and then you can apply for aid in the next year.
I’m doing the exact same thing!

@thepatzae yea idk why i put CAS, it was stupid of me. i told them to not consider me for CAS anymore and they said yes. however, i got the FA change before I told them to do that so idk whats gonna happen :open_mouth:

@boogapenguin‌ that’s true but at the same time if you don’t get into stern at first I hear that internal transfers aren’t too hard if you’re an econ major at cas

Can someone explain me what is going on with LSP program? if they would admit me for that one, does it mean that this year counts to those bachelor’s in college? does it give me any guarantee that I can stay in nyu and transfer to eg. Stern or cas, or after that I need to go through the same application process? I really can not get that since the beginning of my application.

@vballgurl i actually heard that internal transfer programs to Stern are extremely difficult

Yes its 2-3%

@shady16‌ i wouldnt take that chance

@shady16‌ where did you get those numbers?

Is it kind of, anyhow, significant when we submitted our applications? Eg. people mention the days when they have subbmited theirs… Why
