Ok, I’m pretty sure universities look at those who submit all their materials (including school transcripts and recommendation letter) first. Therefore I don’t think the date that u submit ur commonapp matters, it should be the date that all ur materials are submitted. I basically had all my school transcripts submitted as late as 19th January so I’m pretty sure they look at mine a lot later than those who got everything done at the beginning of January.
Those who are worried about the FA change thing, it’s probably just because u submitted all ur transcripts late. There’s still time.
how should i pass time these next couple of days?
@boogapenguin I like the idea of a week-long nap haha but I have midterms…
It’s just 7 days; I’ve had a countdown going from when it was like 37 days left
@ImNYUobsessed ive had it since 64 days left LOL
@boogapenguin I’ve been one-upped
But then we can all do these 7 days right? This time next week, we’ll know if we’re in or not!
Just wanted to point out that NYU does not read their applications in chronological order. My case is a strong example of this:
I submitted my application January 1st at 11:45 PM (right before Common App crashed lol!) as a Regular Decision Candidate. I then forgot to send my transcript and SAT scores, and did that three days later, and had everything rushed. Then another week and a half later, which was in mid-January, I decided I wanted to ED II to NYU, and the entire process of transferring from RD to ED II took another three days and endless phone calls.
After all that, I still got the FA change a few days ago.
Honestly guys, I have no idea how NYU reads their applications, but given my case, they should have read my application dead last. But don’t lose hope… A lot of people get their FA change right before admissions results come out!!
lol its pretty rare to see changes within a week of decision day but it is possible. All we can do is try and be optimistic.
ONE MORE WEEK TILL DECISION DAY!
Okay, i am so sorry for my wrong assumptions, i really tried to solve it somehow. You guys are right and i have no idea what to think, i lost my hope now. I am sorry.
@thepatzae you’re an international student right? The FA theory doesn’t always really hold true for us.
There have been many international students who have been rejected with the change, and others who have been accepted without it.
@ImNYUobsessed im international but i study in us. but I am international since I am here on my visa. I’m 120% sure that I will be rejected but I just can’t realize it yet. Literally I have been waiting for some miracle
@ImNYUobsessed I think, however, we should wait two more days for this fa change. just in case. And then we will see. Fingers crossed for you, I really have a big hope that you will get in
@thepatzae I’m here on a visa too
I know you’re very very worried, but I think it is best if you don’t be negative right now.
Don’t check your albert and forget about the FA change, and just wait for 15th.
I think that would be best. Saves you all those bad vibes you know?
Good luck! I genuinely hope that you get in
Guys, please tell me what your Financial Aid summary said before the change and after. I feel super crappy that I don’t have a change and I’m giving up on checking. I don’t even care to check the admission result on February 15th.
@stressedstudent1 so, mine did not change since ever. i have only one sentence written there - “award access not available”. I did not check that before never, and i have realized that those changes even exist since few days. But after reading those threads i have realized, that mine has never changed and basically, there is no big hope for me to expect that change
@stressedstudent1 @thepatzae i feel you guys ;;; the reality is slowly sinking in
@stressedstudent1 @thepatzae @littlemissbang im will you guys as well. NYU is my #1 but there are other amazing schools out there right? Transferring isn’t that hard either :!!
hey everyone,
would someone mind telling me what the changed FA status says? I only checked my FA status for the first time on albert a few days ago, and it says ‘access award not available’.
@tsmith97 “access award not available” is the generic message that is given to every applicant. the fa change should be something along the lines of “2016 new york university access not available”.
I’m assuming a few more FA change waves are to come very soon!!!
Sorry guys for the question off topic, but is there any chance to send the sat scores to nyu faster that just “rush sent”? I mean, through common application or something. And also, how much time it basically takes for nyu to process them? I have a serious problem
