NYU Fall 2017 Transfers Official Thread

@jasonyty12 I can log on to nyuclasses, I hope that’s a good sign, but who knows what anymore haha.

If anybody else can too, please make a post!

hey @cjeong98 how did you know that you could log on to nyu classes?

@taliashansenz I just saw @jasonyty12 mention nyuclasses, so I tried logging on and I could. You should try and see if you can log on too!

@cjeong98 I can log on to nyu classes as well. However, I cannot login to OrgSync.

@mpm1201 yeah, same here!

i can log onto nyuclasses too, but no luck with OrgSync either

i think everyone from past threads could log into nyu classes regardless of if they ended up getting accepted or not. it’s one of the unreliable indicators

Yeah, I’m pretty sure being able to log on to NYUclasses, is not a strong indicator of acceptance, but I think being able to log onto OrgSync and an FA change are the main ones. But who knows, there have been people on this thread who have gotten no changes whatsoever and were accepted.

Just have to be patient, but it’s getting annoying having to wait for so long :frowning:

I bet the admission office is watching this thread laughing their ass off while everyone freaks out.

Stern sophomore applicant. I am able to sign into NYU Classes as well. My application was submitted on April 3rd. Until today, exactly a month later, the “Final High School Transcript” and “College Transcript” items were unchecked. Did anyone have a similar experience? Is this an indicator of anything?

@FortyNights from my knowledge that means nothing, they just checked off Highshcool Transcript for me too. I think it they manually check those off though. :frowning:

Humm. So its offical Nyuclasses is not an indicator. Need to help out people applying next year

For anyone’s information: I applied to tisch film and tv. I got my financial aid change very early Thursday morning. Yesterday morning I was accepted.

They offered almost no scholarship money (<$6,000/year) even though I have a fairly low efc, which is apparently the norm for transfer students. I would have to go into $160,000+ of debt to attend (which I will obviously not be doing)

Keep that in mind if you’re thinking about applying as a transfer (at least to tisch film) because they do not disclose anywhere beforehand that they give less scholarship money than standard undergrad applications.

It would’ve been nice to know before I spent the time and money to apply, especially since their financial calculator showed me that for standard undergrad admissions it would’ve been moderately affordable for me.

@bannanastand awww that really sucks… It’s really sad that a dream can be so close yet so far away all because of money. I wish you the best!

@bannanastand did you have any changes before the acceptances such as orgosync?

Just to add to this post from a current student’s perspective: housing will be absolute shit. They were already full before housing registration even finished (they filled on a Thursday while housing went until Friday evening), so everyone that was left over (including me and my potential roommate) had to fill out where they’d most like to be for when people drop out over the summer. I wish I was helping someone get in since I’m transferring to another school in the fall, but since I didn’t have a room to begin with, my only help is getting someone higher on the wait list.

@FortyNights I’m a junior applicant but same thing they only have a few of my materials apparently but I called a month ago and they said they received everything and I haven’t gotten asked for any more materials so I’m gonna assume we’re fine

@thedescutnerd What school are you transferring to?

@myfrienddune University of Pittsburgh! I was here with a drama major and a business of entertainment, media, and technology minor, and I’m transferring to Pitt to dual major in marketing and theatre arts

@thedescutnerd Oh my goodness! I’m so excited for you! I was planning on applying there but kinda ran out of money for applications… If you don’t mind me asking, is it difficult to register for courses at NYU, especially for STEM CAS majors? (I understand you were in the drama department :p) I’m struggling with committing to a school because of overcrowding >_<
