@ssscarrrr78 @mishk90 same. Seeing other people’s stats makes me feel like I have no chance. My stats are good, but I don’t have a 4.0 GPA or 36 ACT. And like @zachsambition said, it really depends on how much the person struggled, etc.
Also @zachsambition I applied to Cornell, too!!
What’s stressful is the fact that some people already found out they got in and then they ask why you still haven’t…
@mishk90 I KNOW! It’s okay. Our time will come and we’ll get better financial aid packages than them
@NathaliaNhem I didn’t apply for FA but I do hope we get in and I hope, if you applied for FA, to get a LOVELY AND HEFTY AMOUNT OF $$$$
@mishk90 OOH YAAAASSS I hope so, too! Don’t worry, we got this! I hope we both get in that would be AMAZINGG
@zachsambition I have a 3.7 gpa and struggled to keep it at that rate. I’m in organic chemistry 2 at the moment as well and it’s a tough course. On top of it all I work 45+ hours a week between two jobs, one of them tutoring while I take four classes. My next Orgo exam is Monday night and between that a couple of other exams coming up and decisions I’m freaking out lol.
Thanks for the help and advice guys!
@cbabbinoNYU Aahah, I know exactly what you’re going through. I just had an organic exam Tuesday and I have exams in 2 other classes tomorrow. I work over the weekend and full time student. Hard life.
You’ll do great. Take it a day at a time! Semester is almost over
@zachsambition You too! Pull through Orgo lol! Orgo is the only class I have a B+ in all of my other classes are A’s lol
@transferkidnyu Hey!! so I got an email from the admission officer who sent me the notice that I’m still missing stuff. She told me that they had got my high school transcript yesterday after my counselor re-submitted it!
@NathaliaNhem LOL I definitely understand how colleges are taking lots of factors into considerations now. It’s just that if I actually do have a 4.0GPA and 36ACT I would be more confident lol.
but yes @zachsambition I see your point, I totally agree with you!!
@ssscarrrr78 same. I’m just trying to stay positive
Guys, I have a question! Did any of you complete the CSS profile? I only did the FAFSA, but not CSS, I don’t know if it’s required or not
@NathaliaNhem This is what the portal says “NYU has received your CSS Profile application. To be considered for need based institutional financial support, all required financial aid applications must have been filed by the deadline listed on our website. In addition to the CSS Profile, this includes the FAFSA for U.S. citizens and permanent residents applying to NYU New York or NYU Shanghai.”
Hey guys so on the NYU homepage it says, “Decisions are released on a rolling basis for transfers, who receive an email when their decision is ready to be viewed”. So does that mean that whoever applies first gets their decision first? Or does NYU only accept transfers that have high credentials first and then considers other transfers that have lower credentials? Based on the info does that mean that people who have already heard back have a high gpa and ECs and people who still haven’t heard back aren’t competeive enough ???
@hamstargaming can you post a link to the web page that says that? I’m not seeing it on the home page.
Anyone hearing back today? Some decisions were released last Thursday. Does that mean the next wave will come tomorrow? I hope they will at least update our checklists!
@hamstargaming Hey I don’t think they go by chronological order. Based on past threads, I feel like they accept their favorites first.
