@kenkol @Malcontent honestly i’m shocked…I was not expecting to get rejected with my stats and ECs.
@blueraccoon13 refer to my post with my stats, I had the same GPA (3.78) , “better” ECs & did not ask for aid yet I didn’t get in. I think economics is very competitive whereas people who applied for majors such as journalism or psych have a better shot since i saw a lot get in with low GPAs & barely any ECs (or irrelevant ones)

@burgerdebambi I’m so sorry hearing you getting rejected. TBH I also thought you would get in when I saw ur post earlier with ur stats. Maybe try again next year:) I believe wherever u end up at u will do well!
No matter what, I’m sure that you are all brilliant individuals! Thank you for being vulnerable enough to share you situation. I know exactly how you fell, and all I can say, is to not give up! I was rejected from the waitlist last year, and it tore me to pieces, but it actually worked out for this year, and now I can feel more confident in transferring. I’m still waiting. I was just accepted to NYU, however, I am unable to view my financial aid. Has anyone else who got accepted receive their financial aid or did i just get nothing?
When I click on the view my financial aid on Albert, all it says is “Inquiry access denied”.
*Also, does anyone know the deadline for accepting or declining offer?

Also, the only thing that’s changed on my Albert so far is that a few days ago my FA page changed to:
Aid Year: 2019
Institution: New York University
Aid Year Description: Inquiry access denied.
Housing/Transfer Credit page haven’t changed at all though. Does this mean anything, or should I take it all w/ a grain of salt haha
@SummitIceApparel the consensus seems to be that it probably means nothing with a small chance it means something (i.e. it means nothing)

I’m applying for CAS from Canada and still waiting for the result. Does anyone know if the decision releasing time for Canadian applicants is different from the US?
@tdtdtdtdtdtd spoke with admissions and they said regarding portfolios they won’t be checked off until NYU admissions make a decision about your admission. once they do, they let Tisch film know and then they tell them their decision.
I’m also still really concerned at the fact that youtube says only half of my film was watched. really hoping that’s not the case and its just data misinterpretation or something
Has anyone been accepted to CAS as an economics major yet?
Are notifications released throughout the day or is the wave all sent at the same time?
Is there actually a significant difference in acceptance rates between majors within the CAS?
@amar98 Thanks for the info! So NYU admission and tisch admission are going simultaneously? I am worried now cuz my college doesn’t provide GPA (cuz it’s an art school and they dont grade artists lol) only pass and fail. And my highschool GPA isn’t great either. I was hoping my ECs, portfolio and essays are going to do the heavy lifting…
@amar98 Dont worry about the video. I think they definitely gonna watch the entire thing before they can make a decision. So that might just be some random guy on the internet clicked your film and watched only half way through. When did the viewer watch your video? and can you see the viewer’s location? or are there any other views other than this one?
@amar98 @tdtdtdtdtdtd I guess it makes sense that we have to be admitted by NYU before Tisch can admit us. Unless I interpreted that wrong. I just wish we had a date or at least an estimate for our decisions
@tdtdtdtdtdtd yeah basically tisch film acceptance is 50% NYU and 50% tisch but if tisch really loves your portfolio they will convince NYU to accept you hence why people accepted to tisch typically dont have such high GPAs like the rest of NYU.
also my film is unlisted so only people with a link (NYU) can view it. and yeah i can see it was in new york and its the only view so far
@skyleigh @tdtdtdtdtdtd that’s what they told me when i called today but again i think that if your portfolio really stands out but NYU is iffy on accepting you tisch will convince them
My Tisch audition is the only thing I’ve had checked off on Albert so far. So I’m guessing Tisch already made a decision?
