Do you guys think there will be a wave today?
@nbrewer Yeah I have the same issue - I applied to other schools and am waiting to hear back from them in May. I just contacted them about it and they said this year they are not allowing students to extend the time they have to accept/deny. I don’t know if you got the same response from them, but I wanted to relay the message.
FYI, my impression (I think it was what someone said last year on this thread) is that the reason the response time is relatively short is so that they can make further offers to transfer applicants if someone declines a place - this is also part of the reason they roll admissions.
I feel like there could be a wave because its about a week since the last one came out
@AwaitingApplicant131 For real? I was actually hoping to extend the decision timeframe by a week or so. Waiting on a decision from Cornell. I’m in a unique spot with finances and acceptance. This means unless Cornell comes out exactly 4/15, I’m going to NYU lol
@AwaitingApplicant131 I am actually hoping to hear from NYU later, because I only applied to one other school (my top choice) and most likely I won’t hear back until the first week of june. So if anything I would ask NYU for an extension LOL idk if they would do that though after hearing that they need to have room for other applicants with the whole rolling admissions thing.
Hey, quick question for you guys-- I’m still waiting, albeit frustratingly, for a revision of a mistake on my transcript that should be finished by my college tomorrow. I called NYU Admissions and they said that materials just have to be submitted by the end of April. Even though I will be uploading it tomorrow, do you think it will affect my decision in any way, since it will already be the 10th and some people have already been accepted?
@DaSquirrel007 I doubt that it would have any effect, they probably won’t begin reviewing your app until they have all of your info unless they’ve somehow already gone through every other application.
Hey guys! Good luck to everyone who applied!! I know this is pretty late to post my stats, but if there is anyone who would be kind enough to chance me I would greatly appreciate it. I have been so anxious about decisions for months now lol.

Hey guys - just curious, but does everyone have access to “NYU Classes”? Under the account information tab, I see an NYU email. I’m just wondering if this means anything…? Hopefully yes, but not disappointed if not since I submitted my app pretty late!
@teenybee I see the NYU classes and have access to an NYU email as well. I’m not sure if it means anything though. We’ll see! Does anyone have this also?
@teenybee what page did you see that on?
I have access to both, too.
NYU Home → Academics
@ahristotle yeah I️ actually have that too, but I️ feel like that doesn’t mean much? I️ don’t really know, though.
@hamlet123 I scrolled down on NYU Home and it was right below the “Smile!” box. I’m pretty sure based on your responses that it probably doesn’t mean anything, but we’ll see! Fingers crossed…
In regards to the Midterm report, it’s not shown as a requirement on my portal. Also, the NYU transfer application page says, “NYU reserves the right to request the Common Application Midterm Report from any transfer student, even though it is not required.”
I’m hesitant to submit my grades because (1) some of my professors don’t upload grades online (2) my grades aren’t an accurate reflection of my final grade since one of my professors was generous enough to add extra points to our midterm exam.
However, I emailed the Admissions Office and the Associate Dean of Admissions responded, "We do require a mid-year transfer report as you have not yet completed more than one year of university. "
If I were you I would wait to submit the midterm report because they haven’t requested you for it.
@Sampats Via the portal checklist or an email directly requesting it? Thanks for the suggestion btw
I logged on just now and before the checklist section my name and information would be displayed. It’s gone now.
For the people that have already been accepted - did your checklist disappear before?
