Did anyone that applied CAS Politics hear back yet?
Does anyone have any guess/theory/hunch about how COVID-19 will affect acceptance rates? NYU is known to be an expensive school and NYC is known to be an expensive city. I feel like a lot of high school seniors will choose to attend state-schools that will be cheaper, especially since the pandemic has upended the economy and unemployment has skyrocketed. Parents that originally were able to support their kids going to NYU may not be able to do so anymore. There is a lot of uncertainty in a lot of people’s finances right now. Overall, the admission team may be accepting more transfers in anticipation of HS seniors that may not choose to enroll due to changes/uncertainty in financial circumstances (deposit deadline is May 1).
Just a guess. This is all unprecedented so I guess we’ll see after all this is over.

Wait, so… I’m a bit confused. I just got an email from NYU saying that my application is “incomplete” (they previously have said that it is complete and all items on my checklist has been checked off completely) and is missing the Midterm Report. I thought it wasn’t a requirement? Is this their way of requesting the spring grades, or am I going insane and it was actually one of the transfer requirements to begin with? Someone please help, thank you! 
I don’t think its a requirement for all, but usually if they want it, they will email you. I received an email requesting it, but as I’m in south America , I don’t have my midterm grades cause I just started the academic year. Check if they emailed you requesting it.
@nins01ar Hi, yes, so the reason I was confused is that the checklist, when I check through the applicant portal, shows up as complete, but they’ve just sent me an email this morning saying my app is incomplete because it is missing the Midterm Report. They weren’t directly requesting it, but they said my app was “missing” the report as if it were a requirement to begin with… is this their way of requesting it? Thanks a lot!
P.S. Oh, and they hadn’t emailed me before regarding the report! I think I totally misunderstood what you were saying, haha. :x

Thank you for your email.
I just checked and we just received your university transcript. As you are still in your first year we will require a mid-year transfer report. I will shortly send you an email officially requesting the mid-year transfer report.
^That was the email the NYU official sent me in regards to the mid-term report. I would email them asking if they can send you an official request. That’s what I would do!

Are the midterm reports through the common app?
@raemondawes you get the form through commonapp and then usually you have your school send it to NYU. but given the circumstances a lot of schools are allowing students to upload midterm reports (and other similar documents) to their portals.
Has anyone gotten their financial aid package from NYU yet? When I go to check, it says I am unauthorized to view it.
@dallasunicorn i have not, but if you really want to know you can just call the financial aid office and they’ll give you an overview of your scholarships and loan amounts

Hi! I was wondering, do you know if I send my high school transcript late if it’s going to hurt my application?
Cause I emailed my school in Argentina (which has been closed for 2 months now) about 10 days ago and they said they would send the this week. But i’m afraid it’s going to look as unprofessional, but it is literally out of my hands. haha
@Nursing7 yes I am and so are some others a couple of pages back you should be able to see that. And also did that just happen for you today or how long has it been there for?
@nins01ar I am sorry to hear about that. I would email and or call, I suggest both only so that whatever they say in email you have a copy for yourself. Just explain your situation to them. And also if you have a copy you can submit them yourself, an unofficial copy will suffice for now. Let us know how it goes
