nyu --> GWU Transfer I NEED HELP!!

<p>I'm thinking about doing a Freshman Spring transfer to GWU from NYU.. tell me if I'm doing the right thing..</p>

<p>So... I will be a freshman at nyu's CAS as Economics major in fall..</p>

<p>I would really like to work in consulting firms in advisory department. </p>

<p>The thing is that GWU, which was my second choice ( I would've applied to Elliott School of international Affairs as International Affairs major with International Economics concentration) offers more generous financial aid compare to nyu.. which offered me like..
$13500... and the rest is loans, which will add upto about 170K for four years. </p>

<p>On the other hand, I am confident, from looking at my other friends who are going to GWU, that I will be offered alot more financial aid.</p>

<p>Would getting a degree (international affairs- international economics) hurt my chances of securing a position in a management consulting firm just becaue my degree isn't B.A Economics? besides, theres Econ at Stern for NYU...</p>

<p>What should I do??</p>

<p>Consulting companies are very much into hiring a wide range of majors. The bigger concern is if you want to work for the tippy top firms, which probably recruit at NYU but <em>might</em> not recruit at GWU (especially given the cutbacks in recession times)</p>
