So to make a long story short, I applied to NYU for Fall 2010 and got rejected. I was completely bummed out as it was my number one choice. I am planning on going to one of the other schools I was accepted to and then transferring to NYU for my 2nd year, but I want to make sure I start off right so that I don't have another rejection =(
I plan to obviously continue trying extremely hard in school and get the best grades I can. Should I join clubs and that kind of thing at my current college so that I can put that on my app for NYU? or does that not matter? Also I applied to Steinhardt this year with the intentions of transferring to Tisch, but now that I will be transferring from a college i think it might be easier to get into Tisch (semi easier) do you guys suggest I apply to Tisch or to like CAS or something like that if my film resume (intended major) isn't that strong? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE respond, all feedback would be VERY helpful and very much appreciated. Thank you!!!

Hi Hjsami01,
I’m a NYU student now and I have a friend trying to internally transfer to Tisch so what I know I found out from my friend.
If you really want to attend NYU, I would suggest that you apply to transfer to CAS or Steinhardt. While Tisch is difficult to get into, it is probably ten times more difficult to transfer into because they accept so few transfer students. Transferring to CAS or Steinhardt is still competitive, but definitely not as difficult as Tisch. As far as the application, just make sure you keep up your GPA and get involved in different activities that will show admissions who you are as a person.

Thank you so much Star_rider !! If I want to eventually end up at Tisch for atleast my junior and senior years of college, what do you suggest the best way to go about doing that? I think I understood what you where saying, but I just would like to confirm.
