Congrats everyone! This is a general question to those potential HEOP candidates who were admitted. What were your stats? (GPA, SAT, extracurriculars, etc.) I am a Regular Decision applicant.

Here are my stats:
Objective: Stern
GPA: 3.5-3.7 (90-91)
SAT: 1870 (590 CR, 610 M, 670 W)
ACT: 32 (33 R, 30 M, 34 W, 30 S)
Awards: FBLA Regional and State Business Awards, AP Scholar w/ Distinction, lots of Premier/School Soccer awards, some general science/math awards
Academic/Work/Summer Experience: Internships at big automotive companies for data analysis, Founder and President of 3 clubs at school (Programming, Investing, and FBLA), also did summer research at NYU and Columbia
Essay: CA 10/10 - talked about youthful plight, etc.
Supplement: 10/10 - talked about NYU summer research and how much I am involved in the school already
Income: <30000
What are your stats and school of choice?
Objective: College of Arts and Sciences
GPA: 4.20 W (my school only calculates it this way).
Top 10% of class from a competitive high school
SATs: Around the same as yours.I cannot recall exact scores in sections from memory.
Awards: Potential AP Scholar (after this year hopefully), nothing else worth mentioning.
APs: 5 in total: AP European History, AP United States History, AP English Language and Composition, AP Literature and Composition and AP Statistics.
Academic/Work/Summer Experience: Internship at a local hospital, animal shelter volunteer and did a summer research program at Stony Brook University.
Extracurricular Activities: Science Olympiads, New York State Mathematics Honor Society, National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, Key Club, Interact Club.
Ethnicity: Hispanic
Essay: CA 10/10 strong essay about personal family information.
Supplement: 10/10 mostly discussed my family’s past history/experiences within the NYU community as well as my constant involvement in school/community related activities.
Income: Do not know the exact quantitative value, but I know that I am financially qualified for HEOP.
@sciencelover123 r u applying for RD? Ur stats r great. But heop is for people who can’t get into the school under regular admission.
@BabyPanda Yes. Thank you! Are you sure? Because as per the opportunity page on the NYU.edu website, it states that all New York State residents are looked at during NYU’s normal application review process.
@sciencelover123 I think u can get in without heop. Your app will be first review by a regular admission officer, and then they decide if they should put u into the heop. I’m just saying that with ur grades, u can get in without heop’s help.
I really hope you’re right. Thank you again! I’m just so anxious to know already! Only 45 more days hahah
