so is award access not available the “unchanged” FA message?

So apparently the FA change means nothing. I just read some of this thread from 2 years ago (http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/new-york-university/1302199-nyu-rd-notification-date-4.html)
"this change will occur on everyone’s NYU Albert account in the coming week, and it is in NO WAY a reflection of your admissions decisions. "

-I’m not really sure what to think because the ED2 thread from last year REALLY makes it seem like the change is a done deal.

@PinkPurple95 Who exactly said that quote? Was it somebody whose FA message changed or did not change?

Like you, I’m kinda convinced because of the stone-cold evidence on the ED2 thread. I mean seriously, every single person whose message changed got in and vice versa, every single one. That can’t be a coincidence.

Oh I just read that person’s full message. He/she called the admissions office and asked. I feel like if there is a direct correlation between the FA message and acceptance they would just deny it or pretend like they don’t know what you’re talking about

On one hand, maybe it’s true that there is no correlation. On the other hand, why would the admissions office want to tell us that there was an indication of the decision?

On even another hand, why would they leave an early indication of acceptance unfixed for years?

inception

Yeah true - you’d think after one year, they’d fix it. Yet last year’s thread was interesting…I guess we’ll just have to wait.

I’m trying not to get myself excited, but ya I think this is legit. Plus that person said the admissions officer was their grandma. That’s a little weird! I hope we’re right though because getting rejected after this would suuuuccccckkkkk

Lol I doubt its their grandma…classic trolls attempting to add validity to their claims. I think most admissions officers are like 35-55 in age.

I thought they would have fixed it too. also idk if you guys have noticed but this is the first year it says the aid year and then “No self-service access for this aid year.”

I mean all I have to say is that from previous year’s threads it seems like there is a correlation.

@PinkPurple95 Yeah I noticed that earlier…didn’t last year’s have the year 2014 and the message “no award access available” or something?

Maybe what really matters is having the year?

Yeah - I think what matters is having the year. Ahh I hope mine changes soon!

let’s leave it at that. case closed. Obsessing over this isn’t going to help anybody. 13 days and we’ll know for sure. all we can do right now is wish everybody good luck :)

You’re applying to Shanghai so I’m assuming your stats are good…no reason why you would get rejected and me get accepted.

My stats are not the best - I mean they are good, but not like exceptional. But my ECs are good and my interview, I think, went really well. I don’t know though…I don’t know.

Well if you don’t get accepted to Shanghai you’ll def have better chances getting into NY and NY is awesome, plus you can always choose China as a study abroad destination

Honestly I would be thrilled with either Shanghai or New York - I am hoping for at least one of them. Of course, Shanghai has the edge, but I love both and I’m just hoping that I don’t get rejected from both.

hahaha I’m sure you’ll get into at least one

Hopefully - so did all your FA messages change on the same day, or on different days? I want to see if they are rolling.
