NYU(NY) ED1 2018 Discussion

@eastcoastkid3 i have the same thing! i hope its a goid sign :/

I have a 3.8 UW, 4.26 W, 2080 SAT, a great essay and some glowing letters of rec  The odd thing about this LSP dealio is that my interest and involvement with my major is CLEARLY expressed in my application. That’s basically all it’s about, so I definitely wasn’t put in LSP for not knowing what I want to do. I’m trying to think of why. hmm. I only got a 610 in math and I’ve consistently gotten Bs in math classes. Does CAS put a heavy emphasis on math skills?

@Pink Yeah CAS definitely puts a heavy emphasis on math from what I remember from a few of my friends. Also, it seems quite hard to believe you’re doing BS in math classes with such a high GPA :stuck_out_tongue: Did you take SAT II’s?

I think NYU puts great emphasis on test scores not only just math. But again for me the main thing I am worrying about is my reading score

I get As in everything else and for freshman and sophomore year I got As for one semester and Bs for the other.Bs junior year. Anyway, it would just really suck to get rejected from CAS for that. Math just isn’t my thing!

Do you guys think NYU care about sat writing

@Pink CAS is a tough school to get into, so don’t feel too bad! I mean of course it’s a lot more numbers based, but I’ve gotten B’s before and it shouldn’t be too bad. As long as you’re not bombing a class haha (I’ve gotten B’s as final grades for certain AP classes)

@Sundy rumors say that writing isn’t as important, though it’s still preferable to see you well rounded in all subjects (reading, math, writing).

I hope they will look at me holistically instead just my standardize test scores😁

Can you guys check if you can log-on to NYU Email? Trying something out here.

Mine changed to LSP as well…hoping this means something good!

@bizzy if you don’t mind LSP. Then it’s great!

@gaborik I don’t mind at all! I’m just happy to be able to (potentially!) be an NYU student!

Yeh same wish we knew for sure what it meant

@VioletAvenger How do you log in, is it on the Albert preferences or something?

Google NYU Email, and you will eventually find the web email access.

we all have nyu emails, we all have net ids, and we’ve established that pretty much all of our financial aid statuses have changed. you’re not going to find you admissions decision hidden somewhere in your nyu account.
there’s no point in stressing out. you’ve already waited more than three years to apply to nyu, waiting another week for your decision isn’t going to kill you ;)

^lol let’s not be rude, people are just curious.

For those asking about the e-mail, I can’t seem to find mine. Under “Academics” it says NYU Home E-mail, but there is none listed. I guess I’ll try loggging in if I can find it.

I think not all of us have the FA message change right?

Correct not all of us have FA changes and some of us have program changes which hints at something. I don’t know what but something.

So anyways. It’s officially 5 days and 23 hours now!:)
