I threw up watching that.

I have the same thing. Good or bad?

Hey if we’re still playing the chance me game…
Anyone wanna chance me?
Applying to Steinhardt Music Tech program
SAT 2040(superscored) GPA 3.694UW
11APs(including senior year) but our school offers i think close to 20
Strong essays, I had 3 language arts teacher read them and they said they were stellar. Recs should be good (one is from music tech teacher i had for 3years
Couple of music awards
Good ECs
2 leadership role…one related to music ;)

As for the talent portion
My audition(recorded) I think played it well, might have messed up one piece but it was a difficult piece.
Sent in a portfolio of my “music technology experience”
One was a album i produced entirely myself(5songs…
More like a minialbum or EP)
And the other was a recording of my friend playing the violin…i guess it shows my engineering side of.music

Thats pretty much it.

I know arts applicants are 50% talent based…but based on what I’ve posted, what do you guys think?

You are so in.

question edward 0328, what led you to pick Steinhardt Music Tech program over Clive Davis recorded music/production major?

Well, as much as the Clive davis was very much appealing to me, I sort of wanted a program where music theory and performance is a little bit more emphasized. I feel like the clive davis is more for producers/business related people. I wanted to be more of a engineer/program. Both programs are great but the music tech program was bit more attracting to me…
I dont know if anything i said made sense…but that’s what i think haha.

just an update, for those whose status changed to LSP what are your gpa’s and test scores?

Does anyone else’s FA say they still need to send in the noncustodial profile because mine does but I submitted it before halloween…

edward0328 I think you are right and articulated that better than they did when I visited. Good luck!

@williegn Are you applying for the music tech program…or the clive davis?

@rocky I have a 3.26 unweighted gpa, 4.3 weighted gpa, and a 2180 sat score (780 writing, 12 on essay, 710 math, and 690 reading). My gpa is pretty low but my whole junior year I underwent multiple surgeries and was absent from school a long long time, but I included that in my app 0.0 it’s a clearly lower grade transcript that year than my freshman and sophs.

edward0328 Clive.

anyone else have the lsp change?

I have the LSP change. I have a 3.8 uw 4.26 w and a 2080 SAT. I really hope I get in. I’ve been thinking about it and I would totally take LSP.

@pinkpurple
why would they defer someone like you from CAS? you have great numbers

Does anyone feel that if they get rejected they will completely shocked? Does anyone feel safe getting in?

I got the LSP change from CAS, intended major of journalism and plans for the double major written in my app. 4.06 w gpa, 2110 sat (760 R, 750 W, 600 M ), lit sat 2 (760), pretty strong essays, two strong teacher recs I assume. I’m graduating with 8 APs with a range of subjects, currently taking 4, with pretty strong scores. ECs strong, leadership in newspaper and extremely dedicated (I work on newspaper for so many hours), our paper is award winning if that says anything. My second big activity is tutoring, several hours a week. I have standard clubs and honor societies. I also own my own photography business. I am mixed but white and asian (Filipino).
I don’t know if I would take LSP because of the structured 2 years. I’m so excited to explore lots of options, but I’m not ruling out LSP yet. I just really want to get into CAS and I’m still kind of confused by this change.

seems like people who are way more qualified than me are getting deferred from CAS and put into LSP instead. looks like i’m rejected… sux

Not really money because jshock may be LSP because of low math sat. Why do you think ur rejected if you have same change? It may not mean anything. If you have LSP change good chance ur LSPed

@yungmoney

same…i wished i applied to CAS instead since I at least can be put in LSP.
also since grades are reviewed more holistically than Stern…
