NYU (NY) RD 2017 Discussion

My financial aid thing just changed a few hours ago finally!!! I really hope this is a good sign :)

But just wondering, if it says “You have no financial aid awards available for viewing in this aid year” after clicking on 2014, does that mean I’m not getting financial aid? Or is it too early for them to release that information yet?

My status just changed, and my major changed to Liberal Studies.

Mine did not change yet. I was talking to some people with similar stats with mine, and theirs has changed as well. I hope mine changes soon.

Mine still hasn’t changed… :frowning:
For those of you who have just seen the change recently, what are your basic stats??

anyone have a notification date?

How are all of you logging in? I don’t know my username/password/id. How did you find that out?

Gg gg mine still has no change lol. Preparing for the worst lol

Sent from my XT897 using CC

So on Albert it says “Admission decisions for Regular Decision candidates will be sent sometime on April 1st after 5pm.” but Ivy’s come out on March 28th. Is there a chance NYU will release earlier?

To those who had a status change to LSP: this should be a good sign. I applied EDI and my status changed to LSP; I was ultimately accepted. :)

@Musictoldme2: NYU sent an email a few days after applications were due with login info

HelloParis, were you accepted into LSP, and was that what you had applied for originally?

What does being in LSP mean, and is there any stigma attached to it?

sjong21: Last year decisions came out thursday the 29th, the year before it was the 25th … i seriously doubt they will release on Easter monday or good friday … so I am guessing thursday the 28th… but im probably just being overly optimistic and they wont end up releasing until april 1st

@finalchild No I applied to CAS originally but I also filled out the short answers for LSP too because I was interested in the program. Nevertheless, I’m actually really happy I got into LSP! :)

Being in LSP just means that instead of taking your general ed classes in CAS (or whatever you originally applied for) for fresh/soph year, you take your general ed classes in LSP. The classes in LSP tend to a bit more writing-intensive and focus on subjects like art, history, philosophy, lit, ect. When you go into your junior year, you just transfer to your intended school, like CAS for me. I’ve heard some people say LSP is generally an easier program to get accepted into then CAS, but I’m not sure. I don’t know too much about it yet.

Also, if you get accepted into LSP, you have the option of studying either at the NY, Paris, London or Florence campus freshman year. In some cases though, NYU may assign you a specific campus in Paris, London or Florence if they run out of room at a certain campus.

@thesolution, mine did and I’m from SoCal!

Mine has not changed yet. I’m hoping its due to the fact my father has not done the CSS noncustodial parent financial aid forms yet! Ah! Fingers crossed & prayers! And congrats on everyone who has already been accepted I hope I am able to join you soon :)

FA status change this morning!

@patti, it changed in the middle of the night???

No change yet…

@insanemom, we’re international, so not sure exactly when it changed EST. hope your S/D’s changes soon too

has anyone who applied to CAS seen their FA change? mine hasn’t ):
