Yes, mine changed today to 2014 - NYU - Award Access not Available. This message is the one that everyone said before was the acceptance. This is the message in the little blue box. I’m sure I’m not the only one. If this holds true, I was one of the very last acceptances. Again, IF this holds true. I’m skeptical.

Considering my luck, it’s probably the opposite. I thought this whole process was going to be a lot less stressful (silly me). I got rejected from all my reaches and most of my matches.

But… I’m sorry, I don’t understand what you guys are saying. My Albert account says “Award access not available” but why would that mean that I got accepted? Where are people getting that idea from? I’m not a HEOP applicant either… Wouldn’t that message more indicate a rejection? I’m so confused

PS it says that under Aid Year 2014… if that makes any differenc? Lol sorry I’m so ignorant about all this but what are you guys talking about with all this status change stuff? I didn’t even know what my original status was!

Oh, I see. Ok, see I’m obviously a little lost and confused in the college admissions process, but I think “2014 Award access not available” messages seem like a silly clue to jump at and assume admittance… is that what all the accepted applicants got last year, or what all the accepted EDs got this year?

@snoozebutton yes the theory is based on edI and edII admitted/denied changes

Also - if you think about the way NYU gives aid, the glitch makes sense.
NYU partially bases your aid off of how much they want you … So the decisions have to come from admission first … THEN the financial aid office can determine a package
If you ask me, the “2014 award access not available” probably was/is a direct effect of the univeristy finalizing/deciding your aid package - which is why only accepted students get it, because only accepted students could have an aid package based on how much NYU wants them
This would mean its just a reflection of the data being processed - but it has also shown admission because no rejected students have their aid package processed and all the accepted students have it processed at some point

And of course admissions would deny it reflects anything because the decisions are supposed to not be released yet… They aren’t gonna be like “yeah that means your in but shhh dont tell anyone”

I think it was a bad call on NYU’s part to even acknowledge CC in their news release. But if they are reading this thread I’d like to suggest not only fixing their little over sight on the FA status but also hiring a new egghead to redesign their unattractive (non user friendly) website.
