@clarue - I received an email with my Net ID a few days after I submitted my app. Have your daughter check her email if she saves it from that far back. If not, she may be able to call and get her login info from admissions.

Lets not try to debunk the financial aid message as a variant of whether or not we were accepted. We’ve waited this long, do you honestly want to find out THIS way? Takes the theater out of it.

Thanks jennee98! I need to call the admissions office again. Apparently whoever I spoke with on Friday did not understand what I was saying. I told her that she had not received any type of confirmation email and no login information but the person in the admissions office said she would receive it later this month. Maybe she thought I was asking about the actual email of admit/denial? I know they have received all of her information as I can see that they downloaded everything on the common app. It’s very frustrating!

So if it says “There is no financial aid information found,” then it’s a bad sign?

Yeah, that’s the idea. Mine hasn’t changed either. Don’t worry about it. Let’s just hope it changes before decision releasals.

How valid is this theory?

If you look at the ED II thread, the correlation is pretty much 100%.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/new-york-university/1460258-nyu-edii-fa-change-result-disclosure-pledge-thread.html

However, we don’t know if they applied the same method for RD students.

Valid enough that no person has confirmed otherwise, or any other form of counterexample.

Yes, but I think they’re still might be making decisions, so again, if you don’t see a change yet, don’t freak out too much.

I’ve been checking Albert every day to see if there’s a change, and I haven’t seen a change yet. Inside, I’m freaking out. But I’m not losing hope. Also, the decisions just may depend on your admission counselor; some make decisions earlier than others. For example, I’m from Long Island, so the Long Island counselor may take more time than other counselors.

Hi to everyone wondering about the financial aid theory I applied Ed2 to nyu an my FA did not change it said no information found and there was no aid year. Eg mine said select year to view aid - no information found. And sadly on the 15th I received my rejection letter. For my friends who were accepted they saw a change in FA theirs changed to 2014 no information found and their admission notification email came in th afternoon where as mine came in the early morning. I definitely believe there is some sort of connection whether it be them preparing your account to become fully functional or it being the systems response to an accepted decision. Like many of you who haven’t seen a change in FA I tried to hold out hope but when it came down to it I had a gut feeling.

Any prospective Stern kids see a change yet? I’ve seen Steindhardt and Gallatin and CAS, but no Stern.

To be exact this is what mine changed to when I checked today:

Click the aid year you wish to view

Aid Year Institution Aid Year Description
2014 New York University No financial aid data available.

Good sign, right?

Definitely a good sign!

Question - for those whose status has changed, did anyone apply to CAS, Gallatin or LSP? If my son applied to CAS but said he would take an alternate school, are they going to let him know beforehand and if he hasn’t heard by now is he SOL? thanks!

I’m a prospective Stern student and I have the change.

Daughter is a CAS applicant but her financial aid status has not changed. Is there still hope or has everyone’s status that is supposed to be admitted changed already.

Thank you

So there is a correlation between change in FA ad acceptance? I did not apply for FA. Should mine say anything?

@J03421: I’m from Long Island too, and I still haven’t seen a change either, so hopefully it just means that our counselor is taking more time! Good luck btw :)

Mine says the ‘2014 New York University No financial aid data available.’ thing, but to those who didn’t, I wouldn’t worry, because it’s still early march. Good luck guys!!
