For anyone who’s FA did not change, can you tell me what it says? In other words, what does it say originally?

@Insanemom: It says “There is no financial aid information found.”

@Ksh929, thanks. Yup, that’s what his says.

same, I guess that means i’m declined?

but i didnt apply for finaid… am i rejected as well :’(

Not necessarily, decisions aren’t released until April 1st so you have until then for a change in the status.

For those of you who received this message and were admitted to NYU, did your status application change under Albert?

My financial aid says ‘2014 award access not available’ can someone please explain the “theory” that this means I have gotten accepted?

In the past, a large number of people who had this message were ultimately accepted while those who didn’t have a change weren’t admitted. There aren’t any conclusive counterexamples to this theory, so people see it as a sign of acceptance.

It seems to be a good indicator, but it’s difficult to say how reliable it is.

what if u havent applied for FA??

That’s a really weird theory, mine changed but I didn’t even apply for financial aid. My friend who also didn’t apply for financial aid has the same message but she just set up her NYU portal thing today… That’s awesome if this means my friend and I both got in but I think a school like NYU would’ve caught on to this by now and fixed the problem if it really is any indication of an acceptance.

If this is a real indicator, my guess is that it has something to do with the way their system reacts when they input that you’ve been “accepted”, regardless of whether you’ve applied for aid.

I also wouldn’t be surprised if they haven’t caught on to it. They don’t seem to check up on these forums and I can’t imagine people are calling them en masse for explanations. It can only be proven after people have been accepted, and by then most people won’t care enough about it to do anything.

My daughter applied RD and has not received any type of correspondence from NYU. I contacted the admissions office last week and was told that she would receive an email from admissions when the decisions are released. It sounds like you guys have already received emails from NYU with some type of login information. Is that correct? Should she have received something already? This is so very stressful!
