[/ul]Subjective:[ul]
[] Essays: freaking excellent. i really thought this would get me in. i wrote about a unique experience i had with my Tica homestay mom
[] Teacher Recs: very good, the one from my english teacher is unique because she also taught me when i was in 7th grade and has watched me grow over the years
[] Counselor Rec: i assume good
[] Hooks (if any): didn't apply for financial aid, dad and his company have many ties to NYU
[/ul]Location/Person:[ul]
[] State or Country: PA
[] School Type: Public
[] Ethnicity: White
[] Gender: Female
[/ul]Other Statements:[ul]
[] Other Factors:
[] Why do you think you were accepted/rejected?: i guess NYU isn't as holistic as i thought it was. i would have to say my average GPA and SAT scores. i really thought my essay/personal statements and extracurriculars would get me in... My boarding school for 9th and 10th grades didn't offer any AP or honors courses, and didn't even have a foreign language department, so maybe that has something to do with it as well. :'(
[] General Comments: i'm not even going to lie, i sobbed for a good 15 minutes straight after reading the letter. my heart was completely set on getting into NYU, i really allowed myself to get overly idealistic about the whole thing. oh well, there's always transfer... since i was rejected, i'll be attending Drexel.

I plan to rescind the waitlist offer. BC Carroll Honors is where I'm headed depending on 3/31 5:00. FWIW, I'm really indifferent to the decision. Suffice it to say, I would not have been going to NYU, had I been accepted, unless they offered a ridiculous merit scholarship.[/ul][/li]

I got admitted to CAS.... will post stats later.

Is NYU CAS better or Grinnell?
I gotta pay the same in either case (scholarships equal both out).

*Decision: Rejected *
