I'm deciding between NYU CAS and GWU. I've always loved NYC and can definitely see myself at NYU, but i'm a little afraid that the classes might be too big, like some of the introductory classes. I also like GW and got a big scholarship but I'm not too sure about DC. I plan on studying math, statistics, and chemistry.

So how big are the average classes at NYU and how do the academics compare to GW? What does NYU have that GW doesn't?

Triple majoring is basically impossible to do in 4 years with a science major. I’m double majoring in 2 sciences and I need to take summer classes to get it done on time. So Math + Stats + Chem is probably not gonna work; Math and Chem makes more sense.

Intro classes like Gen Chem and Organic Chem are very large, because they toss all the chem/biochem/bio/neuro/pre-health kids together. But advanced classes in the chem major like Pchem and Experimental Chem are a lot smaller. Same with Math - intro classes like Calc I, II and III will be larger but the more advanced you get, the smaller your classes will be. Gen Chem was really easy and the Professor is great so I wouldn’t worry about that. I liked Orgo a lot too; the lab is fun.

NYU is #1 for applied math and Courant is awesome. Unless you have to go into debt to go, I would pick NYU - GWU is giving you a scholarship and I don’t know your financial situation though.

I agree. If you have the money for NYU, do it. Otherwise, GWU is a good option. They’re both in a large urban setting and you got money from GWU.
