NYU or UMich as international econ transfer?

Hey, guys. I got accepted in UMich LSA econ as a Chinese transfer student. And I just can't wait to hear from NYU CAS econ any longer and I wanna make a decision in advance.

I know they are tied in econ department and either way if I work hard, it will turn out pretty well. But I notice many Chinese students got accepted into UMich LSA econ as transfers this year (perhaps as usual) and I will have to compete with all of them and also other econ students after graduation. And I won't work or intern in Michigan, so still, full of competition. I know the alumni network in umich is excellent but I think it will be less helpful if the internship or job is not near the school.

As for NYU, Umich might have an edge over NYU in alumni network, prestige, rankings, etc.(at least as far as I know) But jobs and interns are just outside the door(in NYC), with that advantage, I think perhaps it will be easy for me to get interns and even future job through some friends I know. And if so, the prestige, rankings, faculty won't even make me better off, at all. Because I think connections are a crucial element for a student who major in B-school or econ. Am I right here? Do econ students oftern find internships or even future jobs through connections(which I think is another kind of ability)?

I don't care much about the campus life or the class size, etc. I'm more of career-oriented. So how should I choose? What do you think guys, in an objective way(discard the fact that u r from NYU)? THX.

Consider that at NYU, you will be competing not only with other econ students but with Stern students as well for internships and jobs after graduation. The econ department here is excellent, but the competition for those internships is extremely fierce. Especially since you haven’t even heard from NYU yet, just go to UMich. Besides, you can always come to NYC for summer internships anyway

Go to michigan. Transfer into ross 2nd year and double major across schools with econ/business. LikeJazzcatastrophe stated, the competition here in NYU for those internships are fierce and just nasty.
