NYU Question

I am interested in applying for Steinhardt's BM in Music Theatre. I was looking over the deadlines on the website and ran across this:

"* Spring transfer – all programs except Stern School of Business and Tisch School of the Arts: November 1st

Students who are currently completing the first semester of their freshman year at a college or university are not eligible to apply for spring transfer admission to the College of Arts and Science. " -NYU

I will be a freshman this fall, since I will be applying for NYU Steinhardt, does that make me eligible for spring transfer? I would like to do this if possible, because only missing one semester of school is a lot better than a whole year. But, if it isn't possible, then I will just apply for Fall 2008.

Also, if it is, when would i audition? Has anyone on here done this? And, if they have, how did you get recommendations when you have only been with a teacher for a few weeks?!

Ok, this might not even be possible...

Thanks everyone!
colegePLEASE

Anyone know?

Call Steinhardt directly on Monday for clarification. Ask if the BM in Musical Theater takes spring transfers and if so, when are auditions for that cycle and in this situation, would a student therefore use high school transcripts and recommendations, etc. since they would have just begun college around the time of completing the application. It is really best to ask this directly to Steinhardt. Very few people here have done a spring transfer into Steinhardt. I think you should speak to the source.

Yeah, I figured I would have to do that.
Thanks soozievt!
