I applied to NYU Shanghai this year, hoping for some generous grant.
If there are any other NYU Shanghai applicants, why don't we share our info?
I applied to NYU New York, Shanghai, but not Abu Dhabi with GPA 4.0 UW and SAT 2140.
I feel that CAS in New York shouldn't be too hard but I have no clue about Shanghai.
Would it be as competitive as NYU AD?
Would it be easy like NYU LSP?
Only time will tell.

I’m thinking because it’s the first admitted class it will be much more competitive than ever.

Hi! I was accepted into NYU Shanghai ED1 this year. Unfourtunately, my FAFSA does not show need for their estimated cost of attendance so I didn’t get any aid. However, they do give generous aid to those who need it, after talking with some other people who were accepted.

Its kinda a toss up on the type of people who were accepted… mostly cause I only know one other person from the States who is going and I didn’t have the balls to ask about her stats. There is a private facebook group up, so far there are like 10 people in it, and i think 7 of them speak Russian (from places like Hungary, Russia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan etc.) then one from Mexico and then two from the States. Just in case you were interested.

As for my stats, here you go. But I don’t think it’ll be much help cause who knows what the heck they are looking for. I might have gotten in cause my interview went well, I was from Texas and a girl so I provided diversity (never thought I’d be saying that hah), or cause I could pay the cost of attendance. Who knows?

GPA: 3.73uw/4.22w
ACT: 32
RANK: 23/522 (Top 5%)
I did a lot of extracurriculars and volunteering, but nothing like start my own company lol

I applied ED2 but I don’t have any hopes. NYUAD rejected me last year. Let’s see how NYUSH likes me.

Its NYUSHs first year open, and my hopes are that it will be similar to Abu Dhabi in the sense that NYUAD’s first year open they didn’t get as many applicants and stats were lower. So while you may have been rejected from NYUAD, i’d say your chances are higher at NYUSH.
The response I’ve gotten was very “why would you want to go to China for college?” So hopefully that will work to some people’s avantage when applying Early Decision.
Good luck! Tell us how it goes- either on this thread or the other one :)

I will be sure to let you know. though my hopes aren’t as high as I had been rejected the last time :/

Hey guys…also applied to NYU shanghai or NYUSH…LOL… I kinda have high hopes cuz I saw an article tht said they extended their app deadline cuz it was rumored that there weren’t enough applicants…plus they are accepting 149 non Chinese nationals,… That’s about same as total number admitted at NYUAD

@Chuksy Hello! I haven’t heard that but then again I haven’t exactly been looking xD

Where are you from? Did you apply RD or EDII? And theres another thread called NYU Shanghai further down the NYU page where you could probably get some more info- more people have posted there.
Either way, good luck! I am always so excited to talk to another potential classmate, considering that I have only met 8 others haha
