I spoke with the office of financial aid on Friday regarding the financial aid email that was received on Friday. It was a generic email. Admissions decisions should begin to roll out within the next two weeks!
Don’t you have to take prerequisites for engineering courses like cal1 cal2 cal3 and physics in order to transfer? @ggbass
@catherinesc88 No, its not required. But it does make an applicant look stronger if they have taken those courses
Omg this makes me so nervous. So this week and next week we should be receiving decisions? @alyssaa96 I submitted my application really early like mid to late September so they told me I should be hearing soon
OMG I could believe the day will come that soon
@tatidee123 Transfer admissions are rolling and they should begin notifying people within the next two weeks according to the financial aid office.
Oh ok got you when did you apply! @alyssaa96
lmk how every time I call they give me a different answer on when we will get our decisions
I applied on October 15th and I have not heard anything back. I also heard that we should be hearing back early December. But any how,
I applied to CAS - Politics
Stats:
HS - 3.5 GPA
Worked a full - time job through HS. I also became a manager while im HS.
Ranked: 42/114
I am currently attending a CC in NYS.
GPA - 3.77 - Criminal Justice
(3.5 first semester, 4.0 second semester, likely a 4.0 current semester)
Working 2 jobs while at college (full-time student, full time Job).
I had the sheriff of my county, the Deans of my College and an English professor write my recommendation letters.
My essay talked about how I came from the bottom of the latter. How I Came from Puerto Rico not knowing any English and working my way up the latter (moved within 8 different states and 8 different schools) I mentioned how I became a manager while in HS. I also mentioned we lived in a car for a while.
Mid-Term report (A,A,A,A,A,B)
What are my chances?
@tatidee123 I applied in the middle of October!
oh ok I applied mid September @alyssaa96 & I say you have a pretty good chance tbh, your stats are similar to mine, and your essay sounds really good @edcam
hopefully we all get in! @ggbass
I just called and they told me that they haven’t started sending decisions and they might start next friday and the following week.
@alyssaa96 Are you sure admissions are rolling? I’ve been told that they aren’t by NYU reps
@asnawaz Financial aid said that decisions are rolling for transfers where they’ll start to release decisions within the next two weeks. Admissions would probably know better, but also on NYU Albert upon logging in, it says admissions decisions will be released beginning in early November, so that also makes me think rolling. Either way, it shouldn’t be that much longer of a wait!
@asnawaz admissions are rolling i’m pretty sure because 3 NYU admissions officers have told me so , plus everyone got their decisions at different times last year for spring transfer
Is anyone’s checklist on the application status page updated??
yes! @alanrom it says I have everything
@alyssaa96 yeah i just spoke them and you’re right, its rolling. It doesnt say that anywhere on their website. Im getting nervous now
@asnawaz so if i submitted around mid october, when do you think i’d get a notification?
