Hi everyone here I’m currently studying international affairs in GW. I’ve decided to change my major and transfer to NYU. Could you guys please tell me the possibility of getting in Stern?
As an external transfer,
My freshman first semester college GPA is 3.66
Microeconomics A
Sociocultural Anthropology A
Italian A-
World History B+
Comparative Politics B+
Going to take:
Calculus I
Macroeconomics
University Writing
International Affairs
Italian
My HS GPA is 92/100
My Sat is 2000
My ECs are:
GW Student Government
Model UN both in HS and College
Marketing Promoter for Garden City Food
Model for Elle
Violin Player
I have a legit reason of transferring to NYU. I know GW and NYU are both in big cities, they are similar to some degree. But in my freshman year I discovered that I am more interested in and suitable for studying ECON and Math than those humanity subjects such as international affairs. I can write a good essay to tell admission officer that I want to study Actuarial Science rather than international affairs, and NYU is better place to achieve my goal than GWU
I’m a little bit worried about my college GPA, I know we can only submit the grades of first semester, I’m worried that my cumulative GPA is a little bit low for Stern. Other than that, I’m also worried about my SAT Score. I’m thinking whether to take the SAT again before April (the new one).
Could anyone here give me some suggestions?
