NYU stern vs. UMD Smith (with Penn waitlist)

NYU stern vs. UMD Smith (with Penn waitlist)

I got waitlisted at UPenn yesterday. now i have to decide where to reply for may 1st.

i got a full ride into smith school of business at Maryland (i also got honors/gemstone).... but i'm not sure i like the school. at least 50% of my the people in my grade are going there.

anyone know if banneker/key scholars (the full ride scholarship) is looked at when applying to jobs???

i also got into NYU stern. this is my dream school but i could never afford it. my parents are telling me to take out a loan but i dont know what my job offers will be like in NYU. anyone have any knowledge on how nyu is with recruiting (i already know that it is geared towards finance majors but anymore facts would help).

in the end if i get into wharton (by getting admitted sometime in june) i will definetely go because its wharton.

my real question is: is it better to go to NYU (gamble a loan i would take) but probably get out with a decent job or is getting a full ride from UMD seen as equal to going to stern (assuming i do well my four years there).

I hear the recruiting at Smith is really bad. Also what's your intended focus ?

If you want Investment Banking then def go to NYU. NYU is a pretty big target school for all BBs, whereas Maryland is for none.

Stern .

FINANCE so and i know stern is awesome at that.

i'm also doing marketing on the side (2nd concentration) but i'm not focusing on that

NYU definitely. Great recruiting there.
