NYU Tisch website finally updated!

At long last NYU Tisch has updated their website and dare I say, it no longer completely sucks. I think I may miss making fun of it but as this is the last year it has any personal relevance to me, that fun would end anyway.

One of things that is on the website but somewhat buried and I think really worth mentioning for anyone interested in Tisch’s MT studio (New Studio on Broadway) is that they have formalized the collaboration between the Tisch Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program and the undergraduate MT studio, NSB. This has been going on informally for several years now but they are now officially launching the Tisch Center for New Musicals which is a huge benefit for NSB students as well as the graduate students. It’s really a strength of the program. The wording from the website is below but again, I’m not sure why it isn’t at the top and in bold. It is unique to Tisch and really a strength.

Collaboration with the Tisch Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program teaches how to work with composers, lyricists, librettists, choreographers and directors on readings, workshops and full productions of new World Premiere Musicals, a skill very different from working on the established repertoire of Broadway classics. This is the only new musical theatre collaboration program in this country. It is a core aspect of what makes the New Studio on Broadway… NEW!

If you have never seen the old website, you will have no idea what an enormous improvement the new one is. This information was previously nowhere to be seen.
