@Dhruv!
it’s Bruce…>.<… so… can you log in tho?.. at least i cant…

Haha hey Bruce!
Nope, I cant login yet. Bruce, Im pretty sure theyre just waiting for our Spring grades to come out. They’ll probably want to include those in our profile before making their decision.

well… maybe i guess… anyways… i will pay my attention to the finals now… no more on the decision… whatever…>.<

Unconditional, just call up and ask for an extension. I’m in the same exact situation, I called and they automatically gave me an extension to May 15th.

Net Id and Password things are not reliable. There’s some students who got in but cannot activate. So we really can’t figure out through that

If you can log into the netID it DOES mean you are accepted. But if you can’t, that’s where it’s unreliable. It could mean you’re accepted and it’s just not set up yet, that they haven’t reviewed your app, or that you’re rejected. So if you can’t log in, don’t worry about it. If you can, CONGRATS.

@Javeb

have u tried loggin in?
won’t any system or stuff get messed up if we try to log in
when we haven’t even received our decisions yet?

Isn’t that not allowed? Idk but two kids who got accepted to Stanford for transfer last year got their admission rescinded because they tried to plug in their app IDs into Stanford’s online portal. Doesn’t NYU warn applicants of the same thing?

OMG are you serious…

where do you get ur net ID THOU?
IF IT’S NOT THE UNIVERSITY CODE that’s starting with N~~~~~~~

FOR those who haven’t heard anything yet…

tried logging onto the NYU NET ID websited
and was able to log in???

i’m afraid to even try it…- -

Yeah I’m afraid to take any chances. Obviously NYU is no Stanford, but policies are policies and rescinding of admissions based on moral grounds and such are hard to justify if something bad happens… Check out most of the posts on this thread - it’s pretty nerveracking

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/transfer-students/658960-stanford-transfer-applicants-2009-a-47.html

The dean or something even posted a warning entry in Stanford’s admissions blog the day immediately after the two of them tried out their app IDs (which worked) and then personally emailed them demanding an explanation for their trying to “tamper” with the system. Then they heard back later than when admissions decisions were released (which were all released on just one particular day) and then got rejected, implying that their actions caused Stanford to take back their acceptances. Idk if I’m overreacting but I guess I’m just trying to be safe? And of course I just don’t want any of us here to be disappointed… Still looking forward to next week!

but…is trying to loggin in just for netID such an illegal action thou?

Yeah definitely wouldn’t suggest doing it! Best of luck to all of us. Hope the mail comes soon…

AGHHHHHHHHHH YOU GUYS
IT’S NEXT WKK…
i will keep updating…whether it’s a rejection mail or accepted…whew
well

BEST LUCK !

what is next week?

The paranoia on this forum is exhausting. If you try to log in, it will just tell you that only NYU students are allowed to log in and that your log in has failed. That’s it, end of story. You’re not going to get tracked down for being curious and seeing if there was any way to check your admission decision online. It may have happened with Stanford, but in this case, the notion is absolutely ridiculous.

You guys really need to take a deep breath and relax, seriously. You’re freaking the hell out of everybody.

I completely agree with joeysosa.
Im super nervous about my decision too, but there really isnt much you can do but wait.
So everyone, just chill till then.

dude, of course. but again jusssst looking out for everybody, it’s just better to be safe than not. if you log in and get recognized and don’t get penalized, that’s fine too. apparently a lot of the stanford freshman admits did that to see if they got in, and there was no problem. it’s just suddenly out of the blue last year two from the pool of transfers got axed. you just never know. i’m not saying ohhh my omg omg you’re screwed lol. i’m just saying be careful. :-)
