If your parents have no trouble paying 25,000 dollars, then I think you should go to NYU. But if they would have trouble paying for most of it, then go to Fordham, especially if you got a nice financial package. I remember my father telling me he would pay for my room and board which is like 20K if I got into Stern, and our EFC is like 11,000. The rest of the 30K it costs to go to NYU was covered by scholarships and FA.

fordham is in a nice area, it does get sketchy if you stray far from the rose hill campus but the immediate surrounding areas are nice. (plus there are some really sweet restaurants right near fordham)

I posted an answer to this on another thread, but look into Fordham on the Lincoln Center campus. You may be able to transfer your app there if you are already accepted with a generous financial package. I know someone who did that. If you know you are going to law school, go with the school that is offering you a better financial package. IMHO Fordham is just as good as NYU (some would argue better, depending on what you are looking for) and it doesn’t matter at all where you go to undergrad if you are going to law school if the two undergrads are comparable and you have great grades and LSAT scores. Fordham has a very reputable law school, and while it may not make a difference in terms of admission or actually getting in, I have to believe that all things being equal, an admissions director must, on some level, feel more of an affinity to someone who went to Fordham, don’t you think? All things being equal being critical. But then, again, the admissions person may be an NYU grad, so maybe not.
