im from CA and i got an email at around 9am today for the liberal core program
does anyone know anything about the nursing program? I didn’t receive an email today, but it’s such a small program, how big can the waitlist be? Maybe they only send those emails for the bigger schools like CAS and Tisch etc because there’s a lot more people on the waitlist for there. I can’t even enjoy the end of senior year because of this stress
@lileee797 Mind sharing some of your stats?
Do you think I have a chance?? My housing portal had Spring 2018 this morning, and stated “Welcome to NYU! Our records indicate you are being admitted to the Spring 2018 term…” Now my portal only had Summer 2017, and I didn’t receive an email. Also on Albert, under Financial Aid Summary, It says 2018 for Aid Year
@USCorNYUBOUND I’m sorry if I disappoint you, but the FA & housing change really mean nothing compare to a “continued intereset” email from NYU. You know those emails are serious when only a selected few get them.
@lileee797, Could you mind sharing some of your email this morning ? thx
@gtmsoax I applied for Tisch Dance! It is also a very small program (just like 33 people). I am also hoping today’s emails were for the bigger programs!
Hi guys, got the email today about waitlists for Stern. But what exactly is this Housing portal some of you are talking about it and where can I access that portal?
For those wondering about:
- emails to CA applicants, and
- what the email looks like,
I have answers to both. I live in Southern California (Orange County) and received the email at 9:40 in the morning, the same time as people in NY and NJ. This probably means that at least the FIRST wave of emails has been sent out, regardless of where you live. I highly doubt that they would notify everyone with only one wave, so keep your fingers crossed.
As for what the email looks like, I quote this verbatim from my inbox:
"xxxx,
Greetings from NYU! I am contacting you about your status on our wait list for first-year admission. While we did receive your wait list response form, we also understand that you have most likely made other arrangements since that time.
That said, we may have some space opening at NYU in the Liberal Studies Core Program studying in New York City, and we remain interested in your candidacy. You can visit liberalstudies.nyu.edu to learn more about the Core Program.
The space we have available for you is specifically in the Liberal Studies Core Program. With the understanding that finances may play a role in accepting any offer of admission from us, please let us know whether you are still interested in NYU, and committed to attending in the fall if offered admission and a financial aid award that enables you to attend. Please complete the form below within 24 hours so we can move quickly to assess your candidacy.
Response Form:
“x link to response form”
Sincerely,
Shawn L. Abbott
Dean of Admissions"
Note: the college listed depends on the college you applied for. I chose CAS as a philosophy major but apparently got into their Liberal Studies/Core Program instead.
@SomedayIwill Thank you so much for sharing! And also congrats because that’s almost an official offer of admission
i am actually losing sleep because of this… i never knew how much i really wanted this…
omg i feel that
@SomedayIwill Considering the fact that there’re only 325 spots, it’s very likely that they are doing only one wave.
@AhMesAmis but if some people in the first wave decline the offer then they’ll certainly need to send out more emails
@bbpp1476 yea…but 325 spots for over 5000 people…that’s rough
Some of the programs haven’t even sent out any emails yet so I think there will be more than one wave.
stay positive everyoneeee… it’s super slim chances but hopefully one of us will get it
@bbpp1476 And since on the blog it says the decision will come out on/after May 10th, we can be pretty positive that those of us who never got an email just didn’t make it
@jayneinnyc I hate to say this… but not everybody uses CC…
