Oakwood Friends School

Well so I am applying here.I like some smalls school and not so well-known such as the HADES.But the website and boardingschoolreview dont have much information so I need your help.Does anyone know about it ? And is it a school for learning disabilities ? (there is not any one say that,but well,i click on the TUITION AND FINANCIAL AID and the title is school for learning disabilities ? I am so confused

My sister went there a lifetime ago and absolutely loved it. Very nurturing, perhaps a bit on the “free spirit” side, but keep in mind, my perspective is over 25 years old. But it was a very close knit community and she still keeps in touch with both classmates and faculty.

Thanks for your help ! So anyone ? Help me pls :slight_smile: Thanks

A good one.Not so famous but very nuturing.I can say that this school is good and sends kids to many good colleges.I think it’s not a learning disabilities school,as no one says that,even most trusted website as boardingschoolreview,TABS,Wikipedia

Listing Wikipedia as a “most trusted website” is just wrong.

@EOTS:I just think so

I know a girl who graduated from Oakwood Friends last year and is now at St. Andrews in Scotland. She was a day student, so I can’t comment much on the boarding situation other than to say it might be pretty tiny. But she had very strong friendships with her classmates and was into sports and music. Nice kid, nice family.
The whole learning disabilities thing has to be a misprint.
I suggest you visit Poughkeepsie before applying though. Really.

Thank you for the responce.Unfortunately,I am not able to visit Poughkeepsie because I am an international students so I really need your comments and experience :slight_smile: However,thanks a lot !!!
