Black Man Given Nation's Worst Job

November 5, 2008 | Issue 44•45

WASHINGTON—African-American man Barack Obama, 47, was given the least-desirable job in the entire country Tuesday when he was elected president of the United States of America. In his new high-stress, low-reward position, Obama will be charged with such tasks as completely overhauling the nation's broken-down economy, repairing the crumbling infrastructure, and generally having to please more than 300 million Americans and cater to their every whim on a daily basis. As part of his duties, the black man will have to spend four to eight years cleaning up the messes other people left behind. The job comes with such intense scrutiny and so certain a guarantee of failure that only one other person even bothered applying for it. Said scholar and activist Mark L. Denton, "It just goes to show you that, in this country, a black man still can't catch a break."

Haha, well I'm pleased anyway. At least McCain didn't win, although I was totally pumped for an upset victory by some obscure 3rd party candidate. ;D

I keep singing "I'm Proud to be an American" over and over again in my head. Seriously, I want me a cheesy American flag t-shirt!

President Obama...

haha, I like the job description, and I am extremely excited about Obama's electoral blowout

I know, it was a landslide victory.

Yes We DID!
Wooott Barak Obama!

I'm not sure if I should be happy or sad, but the "first black president EVAR" sounds exciting enough. As long as he doesn't sweep all internationals out of the country. ^^

Boo is all I have to say.

Considering Obama has never called his wife a ****, yeah, I'd be inclined to think he's the better man compared to McCain.

And then there's this little gem: McCain Criticized for Slur / He says he'll keep using term for ex-captors in Vietnam

Not to mention Obama has never divorced his disfigured wife after having already had an affair for several months before even asking for said divorce.

Wow I can't believe it first Hawaiian President ever.

^^ I just spat Dr. Pepper all over my monitor. Thanks a lot.

Amen, dukebound. I'm not such a fan of big government, but of course, I'm not one of the drama queens who thinks Obama's going to make us Socialist. I just wish McCain hadn't picked psycho Palin. I liked him.

But maybe this way, they'll replace that dude in the Supreme Court with another liberal and we'll keep Roe vs. Wade intact.

and bahahahahah at post 31.

Well there goes the rest of our already failing economy. If he follows through with his Middle class tax-cut plan than there is really no hope for progress. Big business is already being taxed enough and when you take even more money away from them...geez the 4 years= Bush X 3

Here's an interesting little article:
Why Obama?s Tax Plan will not Work | PennyJobs

Please provide me with real evidence that we aren't on our way to another great depression. I beg of you.

McCain's chances would've shot up if he were 20 years younger and he didn't pick a total idiot for VP.

I couldn't be happier!
I cried when the news broke because I was so happy. I cannot believe I got to witness our first president of color! I am so proud!
I have been smiling this whole week. :)

I am SO happy.

Obama sent out this message to his text subscription list after his victory: "We just made history. All of this happened because you gave your time, talent and passion to this campaign. All of this happened because of you. Thanks, Barack"

...Which made my day, because I volunteered in our local Obama office, and this text just made me feel like I really made a difference! :D :D :D

Lolz. I'm no economist, but all I can say is -- no prediction of something so complicated and inherently unpredictable as the economy (no matter how knowledgeable the prediction!) is infallible. So, um, we'll see. :]

Also, <3 @ IV:
[quote=INVENIAMVIAM] Even though I wouldn't have voted for him, I am mostly glad that he won - a HUUUUUGE accomplishment for him and for America, and I'm fairly confident he'll be able to handle things the right way [haha, maybe not the exact way that I would like to see them handled, but OK nevertheless.]
Awwh, I knew you weren't rooting for Obama, and it's really cool to see this tolerance. :D

Please, this is an Obama congratulatory (or defamatory) thread, let's not let it degenerate into piece of pseudomegaepicfailuregarbages with Poser/Viagra's lesbianism that comes up in every thread.
