For Math, what was the one about like a circle inscribed in a square?
I put 18 or 16 or whichever was the only interger answer.
?

end of the last reading section: lots of D/E's ???

There was another one of those "Which of the following term best replaces blah blah?" questions in one of the passages. I don't completely remember the question, but my answer was "pertains to" as the best replacement...any ideas? I believe another answer choice to that question was "admits to".

same. (ten char)

@ zenyth: i did "pertain to", but i can't remember the context or even the passage.

i second ingette.

same, but could someone explain?

the curves kind of locked into place so that only half the circle was shaded in

i agree with daman11

last math question of first section: area was 18, no?

The answer to the even integers one was 2000 wasn't it?

Yes!
I looked at it and I seen every around me like using Pi and other things to get the answer but I just flipped over both pieces and seen that it covered 1/2 the square so I did 1/2 x 36 or w.e it was.

What was the answer for the fill in math question involving the volume of a cube if you decrease it by xxxxx.
Was it 6x4x4 Whatever that comes out to be?

wasn't it the difference between the greatest and least in a list of 1000 even integers?

I had no idea how to do that weird circle in square problem. I guessed 6 pi and one of my smart friends said he was sure it was correct.

pollocamp - yes check my thread. :)
I also put pertains to. :)

yeah it wasnt 2000 im pretty sure

I did 2000-2=1998?

so last reading section lots of D/E at the end?

Oh, about the mars passage (SO boring, i was falling asleep), what did you say about the similaries btwn the 2 passages? i was stuck btwn "extended analogy" and "appealing to emotions" or something like that. i think i chose the analogy

I didn't do either of them, I said "both used evidence from recent explorations" or something, which I believe they did. Neither appealed to emotions or analogy.

Questions of my own: Remember the passage about information? [Which I actually liked] For the question asking what "desert island" reading referred to, what was it? I put "when books were scarce, people read them more deeply."

Also, on one of the shorter passages [the ones about comedy], one question asked "The author of passage 1 would respond to the author in passage 2's definition of wit by:" and I put "agreeing completely", which struck me as a bit extreme but none of the others seemed to make sense.

Oh, and I'm pretty sure the circle problem was 18. It was half of the square, if you picture it again, but the math also made sense.

oh ok good lol

@ elaslawek: i think the height was increased. everyone was discussing that one afterward, and it seemed that what you did was the most common way. however the math geniuses agreed on a different method. i can't remember what the answer came out to be, though..sorry!
