Im on borderline scoring for my states requirement because it varies from 210 to 214…normally i score better on the sat than i do on the psat…

Is it only during the first section? And if’s at the point where your vision is affected, that’s some serious anxiety o.o

IMO, I’d be more anxious about the answers, not the passage lol. What I do during CR is look at the questions first and underline the lines that are “important”

It was complete agreemen. 99% sure

@noocie I used to do that but after reading Rocket Review I changed my methods and my vision isn’t affected, my ability to absorb and understand the passage are affected… By the way this is a useful link listing scores from past years http://www.hhsib.org/LabDocs/National_Merit_Scores_By_State.pdf

*forgive my poor grammar…too lazy to fix a post

I wouldn’t mull over it too much though. Even though the PSAT grants scholarships and bragging rights, the SAT is the big thing :)

I’m reasonably sure the Oprah quote was to point out something that the author then challenges. Because he says in the first line how what Oprah is doing is nothing new, then he introduces the quote that claims she is “revolutionizing” high brow entertainment or whatever. Then he starts the next sentence with RATHER, then points out how she is simply trying to make books more accessible. Thus, the quote serves to explain a point of view the author then calls into question.

@noocie i agree but it would be nice to do well. How do you think you did?

hey sorry if this has already been asked but what did you all get for the (writing) question about sweets cravings? I don’t remember the options very well but I remembered the quoted text ended with “why” and the answer I chose was “do some people crave sweets more than others.” I’m almost 100% sure this is wrong though, any insight?

@stem if you can be a bit more specific i may be able to help

ATM, I think I’m at -2 CR -0 M -1 W

Probably more though, I haven’t taken the time to completely freak out over answers and such…the wait til December is gonna be a long one :P

hum that’s about as much as I can remember, I think another option was “some people crave sweets more than others do.” Somehow I got in my head that I needed “do” at the beginning to match with why and make “why do.” Blagh

Anyone know what -4 CR looks like? I’m thinking around a 72-74 right?

I’m pretty sure the ‘do’ option is wrong b/c it implies a question is being asked

-4 CR = -5 raw points so around the low 70 range

@noocie
yeah that’s what I was thinking afterwards, ugh. I think I’m looking at -3 CR -0 M -2 W. Feeling okay about making NM since my state is garbage but still upset

hi where do u think -5 in CR and -2 in writing would put me?

worst possible scenario? best possible scenario?

@hana Probably around a 220-ish on average

Oh… Do u think i could make national merit for CA?

@hanapiano check out my link I posted http://www.hhsib.org/LabDocs/National_Merit_Scores_By_State.pdf

@hanapiano if you missed no other questions you can potentially get nms
