October 2010 Math Curve?

anyone experience getting a lower score than expected when compared to the consolidated list?

was the score

54-800
53-770
52-750
51- 730
50- 700
49- 690

No idea if this is even close. Please input! (US test)

I think 50 was 710

hrmm. ok thanks.

no one else skeptical about their math score?!

i thought i got 800… but apparently i missed one and got a 770. Are you sure that -1 is 770? not -2? Just wondering. Cuz if I really missed 2, I’d be pretty mad.

I have NO IDEA how i got a 690 in math. and i thought i did pretty well for it. ARGH
the curve probably sucked. =(

not sure. Same andisaid, idk what messed me up. Anyone else?

-1 was a 770. I messed up on one question.

I think it was the dice question which screwed many people over.

I didn’t even take the test, and I spent a good portion of my Sunday afternoon tackling that dice problem with a friend who told me about it.

i got a 700

I’m not sure where it fits into the curve, but I got a 710. I wonder how many questions that was… hmm!

I got 800.

Judging from the recent trend in math curves, I’d say that:

54 800
53 770
52 750
51 730
50 710
49 700
48 690

I got a 700. I skipped at least 4, maybe 5. And I got the dice one wrong, and possibly the last question with the y=sinx graph.

1 less f ucking stupid mistake and I would’ve passed my target score (2250). CB really should allow a margin of 1 error for all SATs. A careless error doesn’t reflect one’s true math skills. Hell, I got 800 on Math II, which is tested in the same way as SAT math and a lot harder than it.

ryanxing’s curves seems right according to what people got. I don’t think i missed 5 questions though. I am gonna see on the 2nd and if it doesn’t match up i am going to get it verified. CB did delay many subject tests, so i wouldn’t see it beyond them to have an error here!

54-800
53-770
52-750
51-730
50-710
49-700

was the curve for sure.

This is a “green” level curve, so the cb clearly thought the test was quite easy.

R3d3mpti0n, wouldn’t that defy the whole purpose of a perfect score if you were allowed one error? Especially after the SAT recentering deal around 10 years ago, a perfect score is rarely indicative of a perfect performance.

According to dipole’s curve that would mean 5 wrong for 690. I see myself at most 3 or 4 wrong. hrmm.

I got -1 owned LOL.
And yea, -1 : 770 seems right; it didn’t seem too hard for me, but I apparently still messed up.
I think an 800 should mean you got a perfect score (or got -1 for some really hard test as in the '06 ones). Reading and Writing can be subjective which is why -1 is usually still an 800, but for Math, it’s either right or wrong/you know it or you don’t.

And, of course, the SAT tests how well you take the SAT and not how smart or dumb you are as a person.
