October 2010 - Math II

Yeah I think that was the one.

What do you guys think the curve will be like? (Sorry if this has been brought up already).

it told you f(1) =1 and asked for f(5)

f(5) = f (4 + 1)
f (4+1) = 4 x f(3) = 4 x 3 x f(2) = 4 x 3 x 2 x f(1) = 4 x 3 x 2 x 1 = 24

ohh yeah i just remembered!there was a question that how many 4 digit numbers can be formed with 2,3,4,5 if the last digit should be odd. What is the answer to that question?

its actually 1,2,3,4 and the answer is 12

I think I put 16.
I’m not sure if that’s right.

Yeah thanks i put 12 as well.
3x2x2x1

Ah I wish I didn’t go so slowly on the first 25 questions… I was on Q24 when the proctor said half an hour left. I think if I didn’t use my calc so much on everything I would have done better, but it’s tempting to use a TI-Nspire CAS on every question…

For that question, I just did 3nPr3 * 2. (Because you need to either have a 1 on the end or a 3, so that means there are two sets of permutations you can have between the other numbers).

was the answer to the last one E?

ahh i see. ://

and yes number 50 was E.

What was the last question?

what was the answer to the question that asked for a maximum? i don’t remember the equation but i think i put -5?

How did you guys do the one with the unit circle and the .8

What was the last question?
^ the f(x+1)= x f(x) if f(1)=1 what is f(5) question.

and I don’t remember a question about maximums at all |D

And what about the ladder question;the one about the shortest length. Is the answer 10.6 or 10.8.I remember getting an answer of 10.64 with the given information so i answered 10.8

for the ladder question i used tangent to solve but i dont remember the numbers

it was 10.8 because it asked to the nearest inch. you got 10.6 something feet, and 10 ft 8 inches.

and the one with the unit circle i omitted because i had no time left :|

if i omitted 4 and missed around 6-7 what would my score be?

lovewatermelons you probably got a 740

^crib, yeh me too… I wanted to do it though… looked interesting.
