im pretty sure it’s resonance…

Yes 9 mol for O2

yeah resonance, with two more structures.

so…is nh3br ionic and covalent?

mhmm it makes sense the NH3Br is covalent and ionic… got that one wrong :(

Wat did u guys put for the question regarding gasses at the same conditions. i think i put equal number of molecules.

just a consolidation of the answers discussed so far (in roughly the order they were in on the test):

element that is a good conductor in one of its solid form - carbon (think of graphite)
good conductor in solution - HCl (donates H+)
compound with both covalent/ionic bonding - NH3Br (covalent between N and H’s, ionic between N and Br)
chemical change resulting in increase in entropy - Zn + HCl (boiling of alcohol isn’t a chemical change)
gases collected over water - H2 and O2
pH of NaCl - 7
why the lewis dot structure for CO3(2-) was wrong - missing 2 resonance structures
what statement is supported by kinetic molecular theory - molecules collide with each other/walls of container
balancing equation with O2 - 9 moles of O2
never add water to acid - TTCE (the concentrated acid solution would boil/heat up and splash out)

^^ i put that too. something about moles not changing i believe.
^ thanks! :D

what was the one about elements combining in different ratios? i picked O2 + O3 (doesn’t seem right though) and the other one i was considering was FeO + Fe2O3

are u sure about the kinetic moleular theory? i think the answer was negligible size and interactions (if that was even a choice)

@crepitus, it’s FeO and Fe2O3

i put feO and fe2o3.
^no i’m not sure i dont remember that being a choice though.
did you put ttce for the partial pressures one?
and then…
that one that was like 4 atm and 1 atm combined…what did you put?

@sauceboss I don’t think that was one of the choices…

@crepitus I put FeO and Fe2O3 because the question specified the elements were different

^ pretty sure the answer was 4 atm

there was one question regarding kinetic molecular theory in the TTCE and in the regular multiple choice section. the one in the TTCE section was about ideality of gases being at high temperatures and low pressures (T) because of negligible volume/interactions (T, CE). the one in the regular multiple choice section was about molecules colliding with each other/walls of container

as for the FeO + Fe2O3, what was the question even asking, lol

what was the TTCE partial pressures question?

and I put 4 atm…I think I did something with the boyle’s law and then added the two pressures

yeah what you guys get for the question with 4 atm and 1 atm combined?

wat did u guys put for the odorless thing on part one?

the FeO + Fe2O3 question asked something along the lines of:

“What two compounds are an example of how different elements can combine in different ratios?”

^ the first is 1:1, the second is 2:3 :D
