October 2014 ACT discussion thread

Ughh cant wait for writing to come out

how long will it take to get scores?
I’m pretty urgent because I need to report to schools that I applied as Early :(

Also for the curve i believe -1 science was 35, and -3 or -4 math was 34. -1 english may have been 36 or i got lucky with my guesses

I swear if the curve for science is -1 for a 35…I’ll just go the community college route.
Can anyone predict my scores?
Lowest:
-4 english
-2 math
-2 reading
-7 science

Highest:
-1 english
-0 math
-0 reading
-7 science

Well i got a 35 and i believe i only got 1 wrong. Its possible i got 2 wrong but idts lol.

Ull probably get something like this:
English - 32-35
Math - 35-36
Reading - 34-36
Science - 29-30

so 33-34

Will the amount of science questions missed be released later on?

deep sigh another 8 on writing
I have gotten the same writing score on both the SAT and ACT every time I have taken them since 7th grade and I know that I have improved greatly as a writer since then…is this a trend that anyone else here is experiencing as well? Is it a length thing? My essays have never been more than a page and a quarter, but I also have incredibly tiny handwriting so…
It’s just a bit disappointing because my composite was a 36 and the writing score really dropped the combined english/writing score.

Also, as far a a curve there was at LEAST a -1 on Math (I worked one that I was unsure of out after the test and I definitely chose the wrong answer and my subscore was still 36)

The science curve was extremely generous: I guessed on like 15 of them at the end and still got a 26.

@ArmandoB‌ You could’ve been extremely lucky. :p

D got the same composite… went down 1 point in math and 1 point in science. She is so busy w/AP classes so not sure when she could study to take dec test.

@kaustubh0328 I took it Nepal. Did you receive your score yet?

@YOLOOLOY‌ yeah I did, 34 lol.

@kaustubh0328 good job!
It sucks that I still haven’t received my score.

C: 31 (+4)

E: 33 (+5)
M: 31 (+2)
R: 27 (+5)
S: 31 (+4)

Great improvement but still kind of disappointed :frowning: Really wanted 33+… Oh well! IM DONE WITH ACT FOREVER :D

If mine still says registered should I expect to receive my scores tonight? I’m getting really frustrated.

Has anyone seen their “registered” change to “tested” today? If so, could you please say so? I’m going to assume if that happens again for some and not others, we others are again out of luck.

My S is still stuck at “registered.” We keep checking back all day with no change. He tested in Michigan.

Just talked to an ACT agent.
She wasn’t sure, my she seemed to think that scores will not change to tested until they are posted. I do know that in past tests, I have had “registered” until the moment it was posted, where it changed to “tested.”

But I also know that for this test, everyone who got their scores had it changed to “tested” ~24 hours before. I guess there’s really no way of knowing.

Good luck everyone, hope y’all (and I) get our scores tonight

So just an assumption…

So when they say, they dont process by location…yet on their site it says they can be delayed depending on when test centers mail them…??? So location can slow it down…also… …I think what happens is some get selected for QA or get flagged, or create exceptions in their processing scripts , and those types of items have some manual intervention steps involved…which of course take longer…

either way…Some of us dont have our scores…and it just depends on what batch, or flag, or manual process yours may be hung up in, if and when you will get them
