And wonder if it has anything to do with not being able to get on the full site, on my android phone.
Both Mac laptop and iphone for me
I have never been able to use anything but the “<<,” to go to previous page inside a thread. If I use the Android device back button, I am foisted to the first entries on the post. If I use the mortarboard or the CC banner’s back arrow ( “<” ) I am taken to the list of forums available.
It has been frustrating, and I didn’t know if this was the case for anyone else. I am new to using the cellphone to access the site, though.
I normally use the back button when I’m on my computer. I don’t access CC from a phone or tablet. The back button doesn’t clear the # of new posts but if I click on the name of the forum at the bottom of the page, that does the trick. I’d rather have it fixed so the back button works, though.
Any updates on the status of the back button issue, @CCadmin_Sorin?
Glad to know I’m not alone, I thought it was my computer!
It really is a problem as it greatly diminishes the quality of the experience and the efficient usability of this site.
It seems to be affecting bookmarking, too.
If you bookmark while in the thread, that doesn’t transfer when you backpage.
Guys, this is still work in progress with the tech team. I’ll update you as soon as I have news. Thanks!
Better? I can get into full site and the post count adjusts after reading. Anyone else? I’m not home, so hope this isn’t a mirage.
No, not entirely fixed. Some threads decrement, some not.
Not fixed for me.
Not working for me either.
Still not refreshing when using the back button, and it always did before. Annoying.
Ditto.
Also not refreshing as above
Ditto. Only refreshes if I hit the reload, on my Pixel 2 and both desktops. Doesn’t refresh if I use the back button.
@CCadmin_Sorin Hi Sorin, any update on getting this fixed for us, please?
We have discussed it with the tech team and it seems like this was always the expected behavior. When using the back button you will return to the previous page which is exactly as seen before (not updated). In order to update the page and see the count for new comments you need to refresh it. Thanks!
@CCadmin_Sorin That’s not the way it was working. Nor is it an enhancement to the user experience.
Disappointing to hear that a decision has been made not to fix it. [-(
