off campus housing

Hello!

I am really interested in Uconn as a potential grad school (if my grades improve). I don't really want to live in a dorm again, so I was wondering what the off-campus housing situation is like? I saw that there are rentals in big apartment buildings which are super expensive and a lot of the houses are kind of far away.

Are there houses for rent that enable you to safely walk to campus? Does it cut you off from student life?

Thank you so much in advance!

From what I’ve seen, rented houses and off-campus housing areas are really far from the heart of campus. You wouldn’t have dorm mates nor a room mate, so it would probably cut you off from student life.

If you are tired of the dorm life, you should check out Mansfield Apartments. It is still considered “on-campus housing”, but they are indeed real apartments, and the costs for these are as much as a mid-tier dorm.
