I submitted mine on the 8th, and I honestly regret doing so. The extended wait list may just be wishful thinking.

hey guys, quick question here:

i am on the waitlist and i am international. thus i don't think they'll be able to reach me by phone (on the application, i did put my phone number, but there was no room for all the numbers - such as country code, area code). do you guys think that is a negative for me?

let's say, for instance, they're reviewing my things and decide to call me to know if i'm interested. they try to call me but don't reach me. what do you think they'll do? will they just skip my application and start looking at someone else's or will they e-mail or snail mail me?

just want to add a little note: i VERY EXPLICITLY wrote on my waitlist letter that if i got accepted i would enroll. don't know if that changes things, but i did say it (and i do mean it).

thank you guys,

sagesser

They never called me, they just e-mailed me, so I don't think that'll happen. If they want you, I'm sure they'll find a way of contacting you. :)

Would not sending a supplement letter hurt my chances of being accepted off the waitlist?

Probably, yeah. They're looking for people who are seriously interested in Columbia.

I know somebody who got off last week without having sent a supplement.

I never sent in anything extra. =/ I meant to, but I was always busy with AP exams, homework, and I was ill too. DX I even got a nosebleed during the AP Bio test.

I didn't get a email :( do you guys know what time columbia is sending them out???

I haven't gotten one yet either.

Neither have I.

Everyone's saying they're out at 5 pm ET.

Man, I'm nervous.

I called - 5 it is.

Thanks. ^_^ Does your username stand for anything d4r7h3v1l?

It's "1337sp34k" for "Darth Evil"

Ooooh. That's interesting. It just seemed to random to me. XD I didn't get that.

Well, hopefully we can all cheer together when the bells toll.

God, it's like another decision day, all over again.

Oh man! So it's certified! 5 pm for sure?

Oh, God, I really hope we all get in.

I'm probably gonna be in major panic mode for the next few hours.

Haha, don't panic too much.

This will be harder than the regular decision, seeing how we're all qualified enough to have gotten on the waitlist.

I'm not panicking...

Who said I was?! You lie! D<

I'm not too worried. I'm already going to Duke. IDK if I'll even choose Columbia if I get off. I just got off Northwestern's WL an hour ago, so I'm content for the day.

BTW, last week the head of guidance at my school called me a pig for wanting to get off the Columbia waitlist when I'm already in at Duke. :-/

Dude, what a jerk. =/ I'm going to go to Boston University, but I would really want to go to Columbia. I didn't get to go to NYU because of the aid, so I hope Columbia gives me good aid if I somehow manage to get in. Really, I didn't even think I would get waitlisted. My SAT scores are much lower than everyone else on the forum. =/ And a lot of people with higher scores were flat out rejected and not even waitlisted. Somehow makes me think Columbia made a mistake.
